We weren't going to but we did !

A week ago as you all know we lost our beloved Russian Blue cat Shadow. we have spent the week perusing the animal shelter listings online and visited one and almost left with an older female long haired cat until they told us she had litter box issues well today we went to another one and went to look at one particular kitten and he wasn't available due to having the runs so we perused around and found Austin and his foster brother Reynold and looked at them played with them and fell in love. We didn't intend to bring two adorable little feline's home but they were drawn to us and us to them and two hours later we became the proud parents of the most adorable little fellers in the world.

Austin is black and white and kind of reminds us of a husky dog and Reynold who we call Rey for short is an orange tabby and they have fit into the house perfectly and are two snuggle bugs, Rey is curled up asleep on my side right now and Chan our 6 month old has warmed up to them Cammie the 12 yr old could care less they are here. These two are wildmen running jumping chasing and having a ball. I don't have pictures yet as they wouldnt sit still long enough. It wasn't until we got home we realized their names truly fit into the household with us being wrestling fans DH and I are Stone Cold Steve Austin Fans, DS is a big Rey Mysterio Fan so their names fit.

Rey seems to have picked up where Shadow left off, he is underfoot, sleeps on your hip and has a big loud purr, so all is well in my world. If I can grab photos tomorrow I will post them.

Both of them are neutered and have all their shots and are even microchipped which means we have no shots to do until next year all was included in the nominal adoption fee and they discounted because we adopted two who were brought up in the same foster home, but arent from the same litter. they are actually 10 days apart in age.

Once again thank you to all who were there during Shadow's illness and his passing we will always miss him. Now we are onto some interesting times for sure and so far 7 hours in they are showing how much fun two little ones can be when added to a house with an older cat and 6 month old kitten these guys are only 3 months old.

That's really neat. They sound like really cute kitties. We put our 14 yr. old cat , Petey down last summer and really miss him. I would love to get another one (cats are the best pets!), but just don't know how our Great Dane would adjust with one other critter in the household, wanting attention. DH was out of town when we got him, (surprise---and he was just the best cat.) Anyhoo, DH is going out of town in a couple of weeks (conference in Hawaii-how fair is that????) Hmm, might just have to hit up the SPCA while he's gone....

I am so happy for you & even happier for these kittens that they found a loving home. A few months ago I had to have one of my older cats put down. I was kind of looking for a new kitten, but hadn't really searched too hard. One day one of my friends called & said that Petsmart had a bunch of kittens. At my local Petsmart all the kittens are placed there by the rescue groups, so they all need homes bad. I went thinking I might find one kitten, but fell in love with 2 little sisters. They are so much fun. I've never gotten 2 at the same time, but they are so much company for each other, as yours will be too !

I have a black and white tuxedo cat named Austin named after Stone Cold Steve Austin. He is 11 years old now. My son was really into wrestling when he was younger and named him. That is too funny you have one too.

I can picture them now. I bet they're adorable.... romping around all over the place! I love to watch kittens play, I think it must give me an endorphin high. (LOL)

We ended up doing the same thing - We had to put our beloved almost 18-year old Yorkie down in June - it was heartbreaking and we swore we would never get another dog. WELL, about 6 weeks ago, we bought another little Yorkie named him Colby - I call him Colby Cocoa Puff because he is so fluffy. He's about four months old now and we are glad we did.

Isn't it incredible how a pet puts so much happiness into a household. For us, a family that sometimes doesn't have a lot to say, we can discuss the pet and gett a good laugh and it breaks the quiet world in the household and the next thing you know, we are all laughing, talking about other issues and the family bond is working!!!
