This is sad indeed. Not too long ago, a construction worker got caught stealing the copper wire from a construction site at a community college here. With the economy sinking further into oblivion, I can only see crime and theft on the rise.

A couple of weeks ago they cut the copper out of the freezers at the Food For Lane County food bank they got a couple hundreds of metal however it will cost about $6-10 thousand to fix it.

It's disgusting and the people who buy the stuff from obvious druggies and homeless are contributing heavily to this.

Sick. I hope karma bites some of those people back....a cancer treatment center here was hit by copper thieves - they couldn't get the stuff off but they damaged the equipment enough the center had to postpone treatments and fix their machines... Ugh.

Attended a funeral in one of those shelters a few years ago, my grandfathers. Some people are just down right disgusting.







My DD's middle school they just got their A/C back working because thieves stole wiring right before school started. It wasn't a lot, enough to cause problems but like other poster mentioned it cost A LOT to repair....$40,000! They had to wait for all the insurance to work out and then the contractor to be available...yada yada.
So frustrating!!!!

It was awhile ago, but somebody ripped up all the copper piping at a City Rec field here. It had to be a big job too, as the complex is huge. They came in and did it in one night.

I think they should make people register of something when they go to sell copper to the recycler. They make people sign here when buying OTC amphetimines. I think something like that would help.

It really is getting to be a scary time to live!!! My sons little league had to replace a set of bleachers that someone had stolen!! How depressing that someone would steal from the little league field!!!

My mom in Florida was telling me that new homes that are in the area being built are being broken into and having the copper pipes stolen out of them.
