Shave gel can question

Does your can of shave gel leave a rust mark on the ledge of your tub or shower? What do you do to prevent this?

I have used the Mr. Clean magic eraser to get rid of the rust marks but how do I prevent them from even happening?

Switching shave gel is NOT an option - I'm picky about those so I like what I use - Gillette Satin Care.

Yes! I have the same problem and the same stubborn rust spot!

Take the lid off the top and put it on the bottom of the can. Always works for me.

That will not work for me - it is a "dome" shape lid!

Put it in a shower caddy (you hang these from the shower head)? Ross usually has some pretty nice stainless ones.

Nope also not an option - DH doesn't want anything "pulling" on the shower head - says it is not good for it. Oh well I'll just keep scrubbing.

Perhaps coating the bottom of the edge of the can with clear nail polish would work? Not sure how long it would last but that's all I can come up with.

Coat it with fingernail polish? Maybe that will work.

How about putting on something else, like a sponge or something?

Maybe set it on the lid off of a small yogurt container?

Set it on the plastic lid (turned upside down) that comes off of margarine or something of that type.

if you cant hang it from the shower head then either buy the kind that sits in a corner of the tub or the one that has suction cups. just a thought.

One of those small plastic "bins" with two suction cups and holes in the bottom would work quite well. Good idea. I use one of those for my shaver and hair clips.

How about taking a ziploc freezer bag (so it's thick), a smaller one, and putting the can in there, and put a rubber band around the bottom to keep the baggy on there??? You can even cut the baggy if you need to, if it's too tall. When you are done with the shave gel, throw everything away, and get a new baggy, or reuse it if you can. I hate stuff loose in the shower, so the lid idea would not work for me.
