Apple Cider Vinegar

A friend of mine has been drinking half of a glass of water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar every evening and her jeans are getting loose. So, I thought I'd try it... no harm, no foul. Not very tasty but the follow-up glass of water tastes so sweet.

I've been doing it for four nights now and the side effects are what I'm loving! It works better on the acid pain in my stomach then Tums!

I often wake up in the middle of the night with pain in my stomach (not good) and end up having a lot of trouble sleeping -- insomnia. Since I started taking it, I have been getting 8+ hours of sleep and my head has been clearer as a result.

I might not get looser jeans (that might come with time???) but I'm so excited about this side effect that I'll keep on doing it.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? My husband has to take Nexium for acid reflux and I'd sure love to have him get off of that... I worry about the long term usage of any meds like that. I'm slowly working on him but might have to pick up the vinegar pills at the health food store as I'm not sure the drinking it will go over well with him.

One more thing... I think that my face has been clearer as well? Time will tell.

My daughter has been using Apple Cider for a while now. She is off all her medicine for her acid reflux. She was told that you need to get the all natural, unfiltered kind. Its very thick and chunky. It can be found at health food stores. She just takes a few tablespoons twice a day....

My grandmother used to drink dill pickle juice all the time. I wonder if it had a similar effect?

This is fascinating, Cuthie! Please keep us updated - I would go for the gross taste on a regular basis if it helped my skin. I have the driest skin, and I want to "preserve" it naturally. What have been the effects to your skin?

Thank you for letting me experiment through you, first! LOL!

I did this many moons ago (ok, more like 15 years ago)...and it worked wonderfully. My skin got clear (I had acne) and I lost a few inches within the first month or so. After that, the weight stayed the same. I had forgotten all about this. Now that I have more weight to loose, I think I'll try again. Thanks for the reminder!

Ok this sounds GREAT I have some issues with acne and they are getting worse these days, I will try this,

Only one question can we buy the vinegar at a regular grocery store or does it have to be a health store?

Thanks for the tip op :-)

For those interested in trying this, check the vitamin aisle. I found apple cider vinegar tablets (Sundown brand) @ Publix several months ago. They happened to be on clearance, so I bought them. DH has lost weight while taking them.

you might try bragg's apple cider vinegar. People are always calling to see if we "the store I work in" has it in stock. It has the recipe for this drink on the side. I am going downstairs right now to try it out wit the bottle I bought the other day.

It's a regular grocery store product.
Have a wart that you want to get rid of? Just a drop a day will get rid of that wart. DS had a smallish size wart on the back of his leg that I used apple cider vinegar to get rid of. The wart hasn't come back either.

Many years ago, my mother became practically crippled with arthritis. She started drinking apple cider vinegar and within weeks, her pain was gone. My father started taking it with favorable results as well. When DH was complaining about arthritis in his knee, I talked him into trying mom and dad's folk remedy and it worked wonderfully for him. After a week or so, he was able to get through the day without Aleve or Ibuprofen. My father always called it a miracle cure. I like the idea that something completely natural and very inexpensive can heal the body in so many ways.
