Ashley Furniture closed in our area, as well as one in Georgia. People who have ordered furniture from them still haven't received their furniture, from as far back as May. The store (according to our local news) said that Ashley Furniture did not have an obligation to deliver the furniture because it is the local franchise's responsibility. Most people have already paid their $$$ up front and are sitting in empty living rooms waiting.

So a heads up -- if you've ordered from Ashley or are thinking about it, better check to see how your Ashley Furniture is doing in your area. Ours closed basically overnight.

If they paid by credit card (MC/Visa, etc.) they can dispute the charges with their credit card within 90 days of the charge.

Their corporate headquarters is about 30 miles from me in Arcadia, Wis. They are a big employer - if they start laying people off, it is going to hit that area hard. There's not much else there other than Arcadia fryers (Gold n Plump chicken).
