my sis-in-law encouraged me to get on the cafe. i was wondering if there are any other grandparents who have custody of a grandchild would love to talk to you have ongoing issues with the father.

Just wanted to say welcome to the Cafe

I'm not raising a grandchild, but the granddaughter of some dear friends. She is 2 now and we have had her since she was just over 5 months. It is difficult I know, so if you want to chat, I'm open. We are actually going through the reunification process with bio mom right now, and it' not going well. Hard stuff for sure. Bio dad has never seen her, so he's not really an issue right now. She has a sister who is almost 4 that the grandparents are raising.....long story. lol

I am not a grand parent but have adopted my brothers 1st child and am currently a foster parent of his 2nd (my sister is going through the paperwork to foster/ adopt this one). While the mother/ father is not a child of mine, I'm sure we can relate.

Sorry I can't give any advice. I'm raising my own 2 teen ds.
Maybe if you tell us some of your problems we can help, even if we aren't grandparents raising our grandchildren.
