Is your cat lazy?

Ok, this is crazy, we have a cat, well, he seems pretty active, he is about 7 months old, he is neutered now, I notice that since he is getting older and he no longer has his boy parts that when he eat out of his dinner bowl, he lays down while he eats. Is this normal or is there something wrong with him? I seems pretty happy and purrs a lot. I just wondered if anyone elses cat lays down next to thier bowl while they eat.

My current cats don't do that but the cat we had years ago did that.

She would lay next to the bowl and use her paw to shovel the food into her mouth.

There was nothing wrong with her, it was just the way she decided to eat and she lived to the ripe old age of 14 so I guess it didn't hurt her any.

I've heard of other cats that do the same thing, it's not an uncommon cat habit.

dont know cats just do silly things sometimes

We was adopted by a stray kitten, so I put a collar on him the other day, goodness the way he squirmed and wiggled on the floor it looked like a furry snake slithering around.

Last night the boys all fell asleep on the floor in the living room, he followed me to bed and laid down along my back and put his arm around my neck and went to sleep

my desk is in the corner of the living room and his favorite place to sleep in on my desk behind the monitor on the very corner of my desk and he'll attack the mouse cord from under the monitor everytime I move the mouse you see this paw come out from under the monitor heheh

My cat is 25 pounds. He is so lazy he does not move. If he is laying on the step you have to skip the step he is on because he will not move. At night when we are asleep he will get on our legs and cut the circulation off. My husand change his name to PHAT. lol

Is one of my cats lazy, is my name not Catherine. Omg my male cat Minnie Me is the laziest fat cat of them all. Sometimes I literally go over to him to see if he is breathing, I sometimes say to him boy oh boy Minnie you got some life... However while he is lazy he is a lover . When I return from work, he greets me like he did not see me for years, he is my boy alright and probably I spoil him with too many treats. As far as how fat he is he is 16 lbs I did however see the cat that was 43 lbs yikes!!!!Peace Catherine

We have a female cat, about 6 years old, that does the same thing. She lays in front of her bowl to eat.
She is very overweight, even though I limit her food. She only gets 1/2 Cup of food per day.

There is no such thing a "normal" when it comes to cats!!! LOL I remember a lady from another board saying her cat had to have two litter boxes one for number 1 another for number 2 or he would not go!

My cat used to play fetch with water bottle caps I would throw them he would bring them back.

I have heard and seen so many things that I might consider a cat's behaviour funny but nothing would surprise me at this point.

I have four cats and they all have different personalities. My older cat Miss Pickles is 18, and although she is older, she is fairly active. She tends to be a little snotty (her nickname is witchkitty). Izzy is about seven and she is the most active of all my cats. She is outside most of the time, once winter rolls in she tends to be inside a little more. I have caught her a few times out in our gazebo curled up in a chair sleeping, when I just assumed she was out mousing! Cleo is our adopted new kitty. She seems very laid back and spends most of the day sleeping on my daughters bed. My little Peanut is by far the laziest cat in our home. She sleeps most of the time and at night she sleeps laying on my neck with her paw stretched out usually across my face....
I have always wondered what cats do when they go on vacation???? It seems to me that their lives are one big vacation!

A friend told me about her oldest cat going to the food dish & the other cats lining up behind it to wait to eat. Finally she realized the line wasn't moving. She checked & the first cat had gone to sleep with its head in the bowl. The other cats just sat there politely waiting.

LOL! One of my kitties does this too.
I love it, though it can get a little tedious.
The funny thing is that he will only play fetch with the clear bottle tops.

He hid them awhile ago so I am getting a break!
