I LOVED that show as a kid (yes, I am dating myself). I think it would be a great asset to have a show like that now. I listen to a talk radio show, Troubleshooter Tom Martino and he's a consumer advocate and great.
One thing not to buy: timeshares. I love mine (and use it) but you can NEVER get rid of the maintenance fee. You cannot include it in a bankruptcy either. If you sell it and the new owners don't pay it, they can come back on you. It's horrible. I have a friend who owned a timeshare in New orleans that was destroyed. Her maintenance fee went from $900 a year to over $7000 because they needed money to rebuild. Yes...they can do that and you HAVE to pay. She fought it, went to an attorney and still had to pay it. Tom Martino talks a lot about time shares as bad things. Like I said, I use mine but I know I am stuck with it as well no matter what
