A friend gave us a cd with some photos on it and I can't get it to run, what am I doing wrong?

I tried both drives and I put it in and nothing happens?

HELP the computer illiterate! PLEASE!

Hmmm.. is the CD homemade by the friend.. personal photos? Or is it a store bought CD with stock photos on it? If it's store bought.. maybe it's old and only run on win98/95?? Only thing I can think of at the moment.

Go to My Computer, and see what it says is in the CD drive, when the CD's in there. It may just be a bad burn, or a mislabelled blank CD.

Is the CD actually a DVD and are you trying to play it in a CD drive? If its a DVD ,it won't play in a CD drive.
Also, have you tried cleaning your CD or DVD drive with a cleaning disk?
Also, you might try right clicking on the Start menu and choose Explore. Then click on the folder that your drive is in and see if they show up there.

You got it Dolly, it was a DVD! It was personal photos and I just figured it went on the computer, but it was a slideshow on the DVD. Thanks for the help, I just watched it!
