Health History..what is yours?

This board seems to be an excellent resource to exchange health info, if for nothing more than to let ourselves know that we don't suffer alone.
So I was wondering what is your surgery/hospital history?
I won't overwhelm you with everyday aches and pains

Age 12 Tonsils out

Age 22 Laser surgery for pre cancerous cells found for during a pap smear

Age 42 Gallbladder removed, planned surgery- laprascopy -EASY way

Age 43 Appendix removed- ER visit- incision -HARD way

Looking at this, Im going to declare myself done! I'm VERY uncomfortable during a hospital stay and tend to get anexity attacks- HATE IT!!

Two vaginal births of 9lb+ babies, I was blessed with no problems. One at age 33 one at age 37

Guess I've been lucky so far, I'm 32 and have only been in the hospital to have a baby. Then stayed home for the next 2 babies.

I'm 43 and been in the hospital twice - each time to have a baby. I've never had any type of surgery - except to have my wisdom teeth out. And, that was laughing gas at a dental surgery place.

1968 - (3 yrs of age) Removal of Tonsils
1999 - Vaginal birth of dd#1, she was a month early and weighed 5lbs, 5.5 ozs
2002 - C-Section dd#2, she was 3 weeks early and weighed 6lbs, 7ozs.

That's it for me, hard to believe in 43 years I've only been in the hospital 3 times.

Nothing up to this year when I had an ablation(cauterizing the inside of the uterus)to finally rid me of the horrible periods I'd suffered with for years. Got my tubes done at the same time but with Essure(they put a little metal coil in your tubes and tissue grows around it and seals it up)so no incision of any kind. Less than 2 hours in the office from signing it to being sent home. Fine as frog hair the next day.

That procedure was the BEST thing I've ever done for myself. I'm completely period-free after suffering for years with cycles from hell.

Oh, and I'm 37 so I guess I'm doing pretty good.

I've made it 43 years without any major issues. I had my first surgery just last Thursday. They removed a big ol' cyst and half of my Thyroid.

Other than that - two children

On a side note - they used glue instead of stitches to seal my surgical incision. This is the coolest - I was able to shower right away and that area doesn't hurt a bit. I do look like I'm ready for Halloween though with all the bruising and cut showing, lol

Lets see:

I have had 11 knee surgeries including a quadricept realignment surgery.

Hystorectomy

I have had to have my ears operated on. ( basically they tube my ears every year even at 37 yrs old)

In Dec. of this year I am getting what I lovingly call my jumper cables ( defib/pacemaker combo)

Think that is it for now major ones anyways.

Oh and I did have a 10 lb 13oz baby but that was natural no surgery.

Ouch, 10lb 13oz naturally!!

I have had two children (natural) and tubes in my ears when I was little. I had an elective outpatient procedure about 3 years ago and that is all. With my last child (9 years ago) I asked to go home less than 24 hrs later because I despise being a patient.

2 eye surgeries as a kid. Tonsils at age 27 (great way to lose weight fast).
1999 - vaginal birth. 1999 - Umbilical hernia repair.
2003 - D & C for miscarriage - age 42 - who says fertility goes down with age.
2007 - Cardiac ablation for V-tach.
Also have had numerous suspicious moles removed - the possiblilty of melanoma really scares me.

But really, at 47, I feel great. I am on no medications.

I have been in the hospital 6 times.

The first 5 were the best times, because I delivered a beautiful baby each time.

The 6th time was to remove 1/3 of my colon ( Everyone please have a colonoscopy)

Next week will be my 7th time.

I am having surgery again , so please pray it goes well!

Red face

Well right now I am going through some medical problems tomorrow I am going back to the heart doctor to be fitted with a 24 hour heart halter monitor, so far all i have gotten from results were I am almost a diabetic my blood sugar levels were very low when fasting anything below 65 and your a diabetic I was 74 my dh was 105. I am also anemic and have low blood sugar. Now with all that said

I have lived with anxiety and panic attacks my whole life
I had my tonsils out at age 3
Iam 45 and have all dental teeth implants I do not have one single original tooth of mine left
I have had so much dental work done I think I hold the gusiness book of world record, with fillings, caps, extraction, root canals literally 1.000 of needles whatever they can do to your teeth I have had it done. My dentists have told me I was born with bad teeth, omg forget I also wore braces for 4 years, but thanks to modern technology I so have a wonderful smile now and no more dental work at least for a long time.
I had 3 babies all natural no complications
I have the rh factor with all 3 and so had to have these extra needles for the problem
I had my appendix taken out on 5/4/04 the same day 2 years to date my brother Sonny passed away, with this one I firmly believe he was there for me, because I was not in horrible pain, but went to the emergency room and got all the tests and they comfirmed it was slightly irrated and had to go
Finally I have also suffered alot with my period who does not and migraines to me they are far worst then anything else.. Enough said, I feel sick..... But a good post ... Peace CAtherine
