When I purchased my new computer I received a free anti-virus trial. It expires today.
What is the best to get? How much should I pay?

I use AVG free edition from grisoft.com that is what my "computer genius" told me to use and what I always use to help my friends with their systems.
I also suggest using Mozilla instead of IE or AOL for a browser.

We use Free antivirus - Avira AntiVir

We've used it for years for free (download at link above). My bigtime computer guru brother suggested it. It catches absolutely everything -- never any problems with our computers.

I have heard a lot of good things about Avast.

However, I need a really good program that I can buy.. I need something that will clean up my system. AVG has not done that great of a job

We use Mozilla because there are less viruses, etc targeted to this particular browser. Also my son set it up so that NOTHING will come through: no pop ups and even the adds on sites just look like HTML code.
