Hi!!

Thanks for asking!

Well, they came in and did a preliminary talk with my dh and I about our concerns and dh's fears about having a team in here.

They were very professional, and I felt at ease with them.

We did show them around the house and they took readings with the EMF and found nothing abnormal at all. They also had a digital recorder and took pictures as we were walking around talking about the areas of the home.

They do want to do an investigation, but they are wanting to do it on Nov 8th from 6p to the early morning hours and are requesting no one, including the dog, be in the home during this time.

DH is kind of skeptical about this, as is my houseguest, Tina, and my son even mentioned something about it. I, on the other hand, trusted them and do not feel that anything bad would happen.

But I am in the minority and I sometimes make poor decisions and don't read things correctly at all times..LOL Soooooo...

Another investigation company has been in contact with me and I am thinking about interviewing them as well, before we decide.

As they said, They don't want to have to come in and mop up problems if this first team is not at all qualified and does some damage.

Heck, you know.I Have NO clue what to look for, I have no experience with these types of investigators, so I have no clue what to look for or expect. I guess that if someone in the field is telling me concerns, I might need to listen to it.

I just don't know. *sigh*

If the old man would just spit it out and tell us what he wants, we wouldn't have to be going through all this....LOL!!!! geesh..LOL

If nothing else comes out of this, the least will be that this experience has proven to me one thing: Men do not change even in death.. You STILL have to drag it out of them to find out what they want!!!!

I know watching TAPS that when they goto a house to do an investigation that they first do a walk thru with the homeowners and then the homeonwers leave them to investigate. This is so they know its not the homeowners doing stuff. I am sure you can tell them that they are more then welcome to do their investigation but you want your husband to be at home. Also I think they mostly do investigations at night time. I know on TAPS they turn off all the lights when they do their invesgitations and its always at dark. Hopefully they will be able to come up with whats going on.

Ahhh, I see.

What I don't undestand is why they have to do the investigation in the dark? I don't watch those shows, so I don't know why they might have to do that.

My ds came up to me last night and said, Why do they have to do the investigation in the dark? I mean, if he is here, won't he be here in the light too?

I had to laugh..LOL

The equipment they use can see in the dark - where its easier to see the spirit than during the light hours.

also they like to investigate in the dark so there will be less chance of a glare reflecting off their equipment.

one night just for fun turn on sci fi channel on wed. nights at 8 est and watch ghost hunters. It might help you understand about the investigation process...... plus steve is hot to look at...lol.

I watched a show, about 2 nights ago, and this question was asked and they said it was because the UV rays of the sun can hinder some spirits, limiting their "power" to manifest.

I don't know a lot about it, but I guess if they have EVP and give off EMF then UV can be in there somewhere.

I would make sure whoever goes into your house is Bonded, so they can be held responsible for any losses or breakage. I don't think any reputable Investigators would take anything, but you never know.

Just wanted to add a thought...

Can you check them through the BBB? See if anyone has complaints about the business that you are possibly allowing into your home without you?

I second the thought of making sure they are bonded
