Surgery tomorrow

I am having surgery at the same hospital that our son was in before he died.

It took me awhile to think about going there.
It has been 16 weeks since he died. We really miss him.

Praying that everything will be ok.

Shirley

I can imagine how horrible it will be once you enter that hospital. May I ask what your surgery will be like?

I hope it's nothing serious, Shirley. I'll be praying your surgery goes well and God blesses you with a quick recovery. Take care of yourself..... you'll want to be at your peak fitness for Black Friday.

Thanks!
I was told that it was just a one day stay. I am counting on that!
This Doctor does a lot of this surgey. (Hysterectomy and Bladder repair.)

I can do this.
Our son was an inspiration to us because he had so much and never complained.

Sending prayers your way. Make sure you made it known if your are in any pain or discomfort. Every procedure and med should be explained to you. If in doubt, please make the treatment team aware. Praying your stay will be a short one. Will you have support once you leave the hospital with picking up meds and general needs being met while you are recovering?

My prayers are with you that the Good Lord will guide your surgeon's hands during your surgery and that you will have a speedy recovery.

I am home again. I am really happy to be out of the hospital.

I had to stay in the hospital an extra day. I will update when I feel better.

Glad you are home. I had to stay an extra day back in June when I had my hysterectomy. Email me if you have questions about recovery. I found some great sites.

If I ever mention surgery again please remind me to ask for a private room!!!
I had to wait to get a double so I should be thankful for a room.

I had the worst roommate. She got there right after I did and I was still sick.
She got to the room and started begging for pain meds right away. She did that continually even in the night except when she was crying. They told her she had to wait a certain amount of time between doses.

On Thursday morning the boy friend arrived and got in her bed with her and he slept (and snored ) most of the day.
I thought I was leaving but of course I didn't get to go home. So the second night we finally went to sleep and her Boy friend called at 11:45 pm and woke her out of a sound sleep . Then the crying began again. From what I heard he must have been out drinking.

I didn't want to complain and have them think I was a mean nasty person.

I am going to get better now that I am home though.

Shirley

Glad you are doing well and are now home. A few years ago I was in Lutheran for 11 days. I had about 9 different roommates in that time and I swear that all but 1 was totally nuts! It was really funny that one of my roommates ended up being my next door neighbor. We didn't know that each other was going in for surgery and ended up being in the same room. She was the only decent one I had!

Take it easy and don't try to do too much too soon!

Valerie
