Question What candy will you be giving out on Halloween?

We do not get a lot of trick-or-treaters as our houses are pretty far apart, and we will probably not be home more than an hour during trick-or-treat due to the high school scheduling a football game AND Senior recognition night tomorrow. I stopped at CVS yesterday, and found the long rolls of Sweetarts on clearance for 75% off, bought 32 of those for $4, and I'm happy.

Our elementary school also has a program next week where we can drop off candy and it is all donated to the local Ronald McDonald House, which I love.

So....Knock-Knock....What do I get at your house??

I did glow in the dark necklaces last year, but we had so many kids its was overwhelming to activate them all in time for the amount of kids we had so I am doing a more low maintenance treat this year- charms blow pop minis candies. They come in little snack sized bags- In case of extra kids I picked up a bag of almond joys (DHs and Mys favorite so if they dont go, we wont complain!)

We have temporaroy tattos and glow in the dark skeleton stretchy things. We also have mini candy bars. We trick or treat first at DH's work and we get more than enough there to hand out at home (we t-or-t from 2-4 there so before the kids come by the houses in the neighborhood) LOL So we don't buy a lot of candy for home. We allow our kids to pick out 20-30 pieces of candy they want to keep and we give out the rest

Our high school did the same thing! My oldest dd is a freshman so she'll go to the game, but youngest still trick-or-treats. We live in a neighborhood with tons of kids and we get a lot of trick-or-treaters. We'll stay home with her. She's in 6th grade and having a friend spend the night, so this will be the first year she goes without one of us with her.

We hand out an assortment: Milky Way, Snickers, Hersheys, Crunch, Butterfinger, Smarties & Tootsie Pops.

Lisa

I make goody bags with mini candy bars, m&ms, little plastic skeletons, bugs etc and a mixture of Halloween themed candy like chocolate ears & eyeballs, bloody suckers, stuff like that. I might give out drinks if I can find a good sale on cases of juice, or Coke or something...

This year we bought Snickers, Kit Kats, and Take 5 (they're on sale for $1.66 at Albertsons plus if we have any leftover, we like to eat 'em!) We also have mini cans of playdough to pass out to little ones.

We don't get any TOT at our house, so I go into town to my parents. My mom and I split buying the candy/treats. This year I bought; Reese Cups, Butterfingers, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Payday, and Kit Kat snack bars, as well as small bags of Doritos, Fritos, Funions, Pretzels and Cheetos. We usually have over 400 kids.

I have bagged (.19 cents last year) Pumkin drawstring bags with animal crackers and either a Hallween Parachute (.19), eraser (.19) or pencil (.19). (I use to think that if I got a goodie bag for Halloween that I scored the big one, even if there was just one bad piece of candy in it.)
I have never given out candy before but the stores are out of the animal crackers and Halloween pretzel bags so I got some candy called "Worry Warts". They looked fun.
I also am giving out Colgate toothbrushes with toothpaste samples for younger children. I got 38 of these January from Colgate.
I will also have cupcakes, cookies and apple cider.
Since it is Friday we are setting up the firepit out front and roasting marshmallows and sitting around the fire just so that we are apart of things. (I really wish that I was back home though but I am trying to bring a little of home here!)

I did goody bags with now or laters, lollipop and a piece of chocolate. I also have a basket of candy if I run out of goody bags. This is our first year in this area so I have no idea how many kids to expect

No kids visiting here either. Our driveway is 1/4 mile with no lights so we don't get any visitors. I am taking individual cotton candy buckets to a party for give-aways and a large bag of assorted gum. I picked up stickers and pencils for extras. We go to the fire department for free games, candy, hot dogs, and pop.

I just went to the local grocery store where they had those 6 packs of mini 7up and Sunkist orange pop for .65 cents! They say Happy Halloween on the can so they are clearing them out. I got a bunch of those. I also have Snickers, 3 Muskateers, carmels and ReeseSticks. We get under 50 so it won't be that busy. I liked my other house-we got well over 200!! That was fun! Oops, my 17 yr old just claimed the Sunkists! lol

Kissables, Kit Kats, Milky Ways and Nestle Crunches.

I don't expect many -- the big football game is tonight and for some reason a group of about 30 people have decided that they can have a private party at the neighborhood tot lot across from my house -- they have a fire pit in the street, they're physically blocking the street and their cars are parked all over the place. Really annoying. The police tell me they can have the fire pit, which is a little hard to believe. Someone's going to get hurt.
