I am so with you. I don't think I have made an album since 2001, as well!!! I have piles and piles.. not to mention the digital pics that I have never made into hard copy yet!!! I hope someone can give you advice, I need to know as well! |

Just go to Walmart or the dollar store and find lots and lots of photo albums. It is hard to find the big ones that were popular in the 80's - I have only had luck finding the smaller sizes. After my hard drive crashed and I lost my entire group of photos online because I had not uploaded them to a photo hosting site (like shutterfly) I made up my mind that at least once a year I would order actual photos and put them in albums. I must have 10+ photo albums full of photos now! Organize the photos, and figure out how many albums you need. Ebay has some albums, or the dollar store. JCPenney sometimes carries them too. You will feel so much better after you organize the pile and get started! I love looking through our photos!! And being in albums, they are protected. ![]() To organize and get actual photos was a New Years Resolution of mine a couple years ago, and I have to say that I have been pretty good with keeping up on it.

I am way behind with you! I was so organized with the first children,, but as time progressed, I was just happy to have taken the stinking pix, much less label and organize them! FWIW, the first thing I have done is bought a whole bunch of photo boxes with index tabs. You can find them pretty inexpensively at Dollar stores, craft stores, etc. I assigned each box a year or two, depending upon how prolific a photographer I thought I had been, and started getting them organized by year, and marking duplicates, which I keep in a separate box. I am now trying to organize the photos within the boxes by season or month, and from there will put them into albums. As I go through, I try to label who is in the photos, what year, what event, on the back. Some remain a mystery, particularly since two of my boys looked so much alike I can only really date & label if there is a context, i.e. someone else in the photo or a room in a house we owned. It is daunting, but every time I have a few minutes, I grab a box and get to it. Hope this helps. |
