It annoys me too. I did take my daughter out when she was 6 months old because I had to take her older brother out (and there wasn't anyone who was able to watch her). She was dressed in a costume, however, I did NOT get candy for her- she didn't even have a bucket.

I agree. It's a pet peeve of mine also. I will give just one piece of candy, not the usual 3-4. We all know it's not for the baby, it's for the mom.

We had a 3 week old with its teenage parents one year. No newborns this year.

But, we did have one little girl looked about 3 years old who held out her bag and then her mom followed her and held out her bag and said, "Trick or Treat." She looked about 23 or 24 years old.

i have a 14 mth old that i dressed up, pushed in a stroller. i didn't have a bucket for her. i also have a 3 1/2 yr old that was trick or treating. i never acted like my baby was trick or treating, but a few folks asked if she could have a sucker. i did see a pair of teenage parents taking a baby around with a bag full of candy. i don't agree w/ it either.

I'm fine with people dressing up babies and taking them around in a stroller just to show them off as long as the baby seems happy about it, it isn't too cold, etc.

But collecting candy for a child that in no way shape or form could eat it is not right. Dang, you can get all kinds of candy on the cheap before Halloween and you wouldn't have to go to the bother of pushing the kid around for an hour or two.

I love the little kids who hold out their bag while the parents whisper "say trick or treat" from the sidelines. Cracks me up

I had many parents this year do this. I gave one piece of junk candy but the kids that were about 3 and up got something decent.

While taking my kids around trick-or-treating, we saw two young dads pushing their kids around in strollers ~ both were under one year old in age. They were going door to door
