I was in a car accident on Black Friday

Well so much for Black Friday bargains as I hit Black Ice and spun into a guardrail. My daughter was in the front seat as well. She just got her license and I don't know if this will terrify her to see that something can happen so quickly. She did see that Thank God I wasn't going fast or talking on a cell phone or we prbably wouldn't be here. We were on an exit offramp and thankfully nobody was behind or in front of us or it could have been a whole diffetent story.

I know I should be Thankful but I am so depressed over this whole thing. We have no collison and it will be costly to fix. Sure makes you think how fast your life can be taken.
To make matters even more crazy we go home and my Husband plugs in a new TV I bought and the dam thing sparks at the outlet and doesn't work.

Just needed to vent .......

So sorry to hear you were in an accident. I hope it doesn't cost a lot to get your car fixed, especially right here at Christmas.

Wow. What a nasty day for you. If it can be put into perspective I guess your daughter learned a valuable lesson about driving! That's always a good thing! Glad you are all well. Sorry about the mess though.

I did something very similar many years ago in my dad's thunderbird- hit black ice, skidded out, hit a guardrail with the front of the car. I still remember how scared and out of control I felt. I am sure it was unavoidable- keep trying to put it in perspective. Glad you are both ok.

Oh man, I'm glad you and your daughter weren't hurt. My brother did the same thing, hit black ice going off an interstate, but he rolled the mini van. Fortunately he was not hurt.

Sounds like a really crappy day for you. I hope your luck turns around!

Wow! I'm really sorry to hear about your accident, OP. I'm also very glad to hear that no one was injured, it could have been so much worse. Thank God that you and your DD are okay. Try to keep in mind that you've only loss the use of your vehicle. And be thankful that you didn't lose your DD, and/or that your family didn't lose you. I really feel for you. I know how depressing these unforeseen incidents (especially ones that cause you a financial blow) can really put a damper on the holidays. And it never seems to be just one unfortunate incident, it's usually 2 or 3 in a row. Trust me, I know how you feel. I've been there many times, myself. Try to not let it overwhelm you too much. Count your blessings, pray and trust that the Lord will help you through. I'll be praying for you as well.

Glad to read that you and your daughter are okay. The car can be fixed. The TV can go back to the store. Last week, the roads froze over in my state. I discovered this on the way to work. I prayed the whole way. I saw one SUV in a ditch. The driver was standing on the other side of it, away from the road, talking on what appeared to be a cellphone. Thank goodness they salted the roads by morning.

I'm glad you're both OK but I'm sorry about your car. Black ice can be so dangerous.

I'm sorry about your accident but glad to know that you and your DD are okay. I did something similiar about 3 years ago but it was my son in the front seat and was just about time for him to get his license. It was raining and we flipped my SUV three times. I thought the same thing, but he bounced back and whenever it rains now, he slows down b/c of remembering that day. I'm just thankful we all are still here.

Glad you had an action plan
(referring to your tag line of praying for HEALTH instead of Wealth).
God really does answer prayer.

Sorry for the scare though!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. It is definitly the most helpless feeling there is. Thank GOD my daughter wasn't hurt because with that kids health issues she has seriously been through the ropes. My husband has had this car since he was 17 and it is now impossible to find parts and is worth more than when he bought it.
So 1st Thank God we are okay but I feel terrible for what happened. The point i am getting to is when I said to my husband how sad because I know how much he loves his car he said " Not as much as I love you and my daughter" So sweet!
Life is precious and in todays crazy stressful world we lose perspective sometimes but it can be swept away in seconds. So on that note I will pleasantly go do another load of laundry and wash my kitchen floor.....LOL
