Next Year I am Starting a New Tradition

Instead of getting up early and standing in line for over an hour I am going to go to a nice warm restaurant and drink cocoa and have a nice hot breakfast. I never buy anything that is in limited supply and after all that happened this year it's time for a change. I am too old I guess I was cold and tired. I could just show up at 5 am when the doors open after having eaten and sat in my nice comfy warm car.

Now I already feel better! All the stuff I wanted was in the 5 hr sale. This is ridiculous.

I've been to 2 black friday sales in 35+ years, one for my camera and the other for my all in one printer. I dont like crowds I guess is why I wouldnt go more, i go to the mall maybe once in 4-5 years, nothing great there either lol

I think that's a good idea. It sounds like more fun than braving the crowds.

Sounds like a plan. My Black Friday consisted of sleeping off my turkey hangover --seriously, I felt drugged -- then getting up and having leftovers for breakfast. DD and I finally got out of the house at about 10:30 -- no huge crowds to deal with and we had a really pleasant afternoon. We had lunch together and picked up a few gifts and craft projects. It was very low key and I got to spend one-on-one time with my teen. I have never gotten up early to go shopping on BF-- I'd rather be snuggled up next to DH, catching up on some much needed sleep.

I don't get up early to go the Black Friday Sales. I save money in so many other areas, I just don't want to trade my sleep (and apparently life) for the money I would save. This year I somehow lucked out and was able to order the Kodak digital frame from the Target sale, on line.

Call me nuts but I think it's fun watching all the shoppers so I will probably be there (the mall) next year too. I won't wait in long lines for anything anymore though. It's not worth it. That's why I bought myself a 42" plasma tv on zero percent interest BEFORE Black Friday! I really enjoy Black Friday when there's nothing I "must have".
