I am sooo mad (Kohl's)

They had a sale yesterday and I had to really hurry to make it there in time after work. So, I finally find the shoes I've been looking for in my size and a few other things I actually need. After that I stand in line - for a l-o-n-g time. I is finally my turn and I tell the lady that I have a new card that needs to be activated. She tries to do that but the computer won't let her. She calls CS ... who tells her that they can't. She gives me the phone and CS tells me that I have had a $150 since AUGUST (90 days overdue). I know that is not true (I usually charge and write a check right away to keep my account at $0), but she insists. So I left everything on the counter and go home (line at CS was from here to Atlanta!).
At home I called Kohl's CS and .... ta-dah ... I have a balance of $16.xx (DD bought a bra), bill has not even been sent out.
Just had to vent

Wow - I've usually found Kohls to be top-notch in CS (the dressing rooms...well, that's another matter!). Perhaps call them, explain the situation, and see if they can honor the price that you would have gotten merchandise for....or get a coupon sent out to you.

I had my first pain with Kohls this week. They have always had when you pay your bill you can pay $50 or 1/3 of your bill (whichever is more) to avoid finance charges. So I bought a bunch of stuff at their last sale with 30% off last month for Christmas and around the house. I probably spent more than I should have but I knew I could easily pay 1/3 of it no problem and the rest once my business holiday money starts coming in. So I get my bill and it says to avoid interest, I must pay the whole balance. I call CS and was told that a *notice* went out with my Aug bill. So I pull it (I keep the inserts and all in case of something like this). I review it, ask her where it was noted and lo and behold....no notice. She says she's sorry but can do nothing about it. So, I had to pay the whole balance to avoid interest. I talked to a manager and gave him a piece of my mind because I wasn't notified. "There must have been a glitch in the system". Ugh. So now I won't be spending nearly as much as Kohls since I'll have to pay the whole thing off instead of 1/3 It's what made having a Kohls card cool, especially for holiday shopping. I was told they took this "perk" away from Alabama as well as Colorado. I don't know what other states still have it

I am sorry for your problem. There was a lady in line in front of me a few months ago that could have been you. Same sort of problem and she ended up walking out with around $300 on the register.

I never heard of such a thing as paying $50 or 1/3 to avoid interest, unless it was a "no interest untill xxxx type of deal.
I always thought you had to pay any card from anywhere in full to avoid interest,

Yeah, it was something they did in a handful of states and now CO and AL aren't one of them anymore.

I hate Kohls. I think they play games with their prices and the store is so packed with merchandise it overwhelms me.
