Looks like my taste differs from most here, I'm not big into romance/love stories.
These are some of my favorites, just to name a few (LOL)..........

Comedy -

O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Shaun of the Dead
Kung Fu Hustle
The Princess Bride
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
The Twelve Chairs (Dom DeLuise - cracks me up!!! & Mel Brooks - comedic genius)
Coneheads

Horror -

The Thing (Kurt Russell)
Alien, Aliens (1st 2 are the best)
28 Days Later
The Grudge
House on Haunted Hill
Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness (more like comedy/action)

Action/Adventure -

Pirates of the Caribbean - all of them
Indiana Jones - all of them
Die Hard - all of them
The Terminator - all of them
Snatch (Brad Pitt) - more like an action/comedy, warning: excessive cursing
Romancing the Stone (Michael Douglas & Kathleen Turner)
Jewel of the Nile (Michael Douglas & Kathleen Turner)
Big Trouble in Little China (Kurt Russell & Kim Cattrall)

Suspense -

Frailty (Bill Paxton & Matthew McConaughey)

Fantasy -

Legend (Tom Cruise)

Romance -

Far and Away

Foreign Films -

The Devil’s Backbone (Spanish horror/ghost, director - Guillermo del Toro)
The Eye (Chinese? horror)
Happiness of the Katakuris (insane Japanese film, LOL)
The Triplets of Belleville (French "silent" animation)

Family -

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
The Wizard of Oz
March of the Wooden Soldiers (Laurel & Hardy)
Ice Age - both
The Incredibles

Christmas -

National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation (absolute favorite x-mas movie!)
Funny Farm (Chevy Chase)
Trapped in Paradise (Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey & Jon Lovitz)
A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim, 1951 B&W)
The Santa Claus
All the Arthur Rankin classics

BTW, if anyone has any movie suggestions based on what I've listed, PLMK.

I wouldn't mind spending the entire day right now sitting back and watching all 3 Lord of the Rings videos.Too bad I don't own them.I saw Lord of the Rings 1 at the dollar store for only $1.00 the other day.
Other favorites are those world distaster films like War of the Worlds,Independence Day,Dantes Peak,Volcano,Deep Impact,Armageddon, etc.
Any comedy with Jim Carrey in it.

Yes! Gods would be in my top 20.

Singing in the Rain is at the top of my list. I could watch the dance sequences over and over and sometimes do just that.

The first Batman with Michael Keaton

Silence of the Lambs

Shawshank Redemption

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

To Kill a Mockingbird

The Castle, an Australian comedy that probably no one has seen. If you liked The Gods Must Be Crazy you might like this.

The Pink Panther

Chicago

Casino Royale with the new James Bond

Almost anything with Cary Grant

Almost anything with Paul Newman

Gallapagos

Little Shop of Horrors with Rick Moranis
