New Forum Look - Yea or Nay?

Looks nice, but missing a key feature....can no longer tell when you've visited a thread already.... someone tell me that I'm wrong as it's driving me nuts! (Nuttier than I already am ) And the default font size is a little small....

You can tell which threads have new post by the envelopes on the left side of the thread titles. Is there a way to change the font size here or do I have to do it in my browser settings?

ETA: I forgot to answer your question... No, I don't like the new look of the forum.

Ahh...thanks....although I admit that I preferred having the thread title reflect read status.

Where are our Homepages?
Have they been put somewhere that we are unable to see the link? Have they been taken away from us?

I was always taught "If it aint broke, dont fixt it"

I really do NOT like the new format, to much room on the sides and the font is way to big, even though I have mine set a small. Lots of unused room on the layout.

I absolutely love it! I think this is the first time that they have changed things and have actually accomplished an improvement.Everything is very nicely centered in the middle of my screen now instead of all to one side. This is great when you have a 22" monitor! Great job MyCoupons!

Yes, it sure is.

And I agree with Irish, there is too much unused white space on the sides; kind of annoying.

I hate centered sites with lots of "wasted space" on the sides. It's really gets on my nerves (yes, I know there are bigger things in this world to get annoyed at but we all know it's the little things that drive us crazy). It looked a lot better before the change IMO

My goodness.. a free board and changes have been made to make the reading easier...ast least as far as I can see. How can anybody have any complaints about a free service that accomplishes its goal??

It's too smooshed -- too much empty space on the sides.

I wouldn't come out and complain to MYC directly for the changes but OP ASKED if we liked it. So, I responded. Personally, I do not find the *reading easier* so I do not think MYC has accomplished that goal if that was the goal they set. If they like, hey, whatever works for them. I just don't think it's as user friendly as it was before but again, that's only my opinion and I don't consider it a complaint...just a comment.

I agree. It's irritating and they'll lose members if they don't fix it. I'm not going to invest my energy into all that scrolling. As you said, I don't have to on other sites and there's no good reason why I should have to do it here.

I don't like the smaller font size or the fact I can't tell which posts I've visited already.

The font is ok with me. I don't like having to maximize my screen. I really don't like that the posts I've visited aren't highlighted anymore. It's hard to tell where they stop.

I agree with this.

Font is small on my computer. I wonder why some us say the font is bigger and some say it smaller? Some have to scroll and others do not (have space on the sides... I have 1 1/2 inches of white screen on each side of the MC webpages)?

Jeesh. I was just asking what people thought. What's the matter with casting a vote and/or sharing issues that people see and hopefully can help each other resolve?

I personally think it would be helpful to the developer to see what the key concerns are and how to make the user experience better through tweaks, etc. Well, that's the way it works in my world at least.

I don't like it and really don't like not seeing which posts I have already read. And what about when you read a post and then go back, it goes back to the top of the page and not where you left off...ugh! Very confusing.....

No I am sorry but you are wrong. There is alot of us old timer members here that actually PAID to be on the Paid part of this site.
We also have been though all these changes with mycoupons and each and ever time there is a change made, we end up having to scroll from side to side to read the posts. That SUCKS. There is a huge white blank section on the left of the screen but I still have to scroll over to read the posts. Not on any other site I go to do I have to do this except here. And its because of the upgrade that I am having to do this and again it SUCKS.

Why do they have to "make it better" when we was fine with it before, why not ask opinions of their memberes.... the ones that come everyday to read things here.... before they decide to "fix" something?

Who said the site was broken before? :-/

Thank Goodness!!! I thought my eye sight was going bad.

The font size is too small! And I don't like that you can't tell what threads you've already read and which have new posts. I liked it better before. I have a lot of white space on both sides now too.

I agree with the others, font size is too small, space is wasted and I really don't like the part where its now harder to see if we've read a post already.

I think the underlining also makes it difficult to read and doesn't look as "clean".

I guess the white space is better than having to scroll back and forth to read all of it

The font size seems same to me. However, everything is centered on my screen and I like that...no scroll for me. Think it is because of wide screen monitor? I do not like the same things you all say like hard to tell which threads you have read, the underlining, etc. But worst of all, the site has became slower as it usually does after they redo things.

I can tell you that the underlining has been fixed and the bold font indicating which threads you have not read is back. Those are things we brought up as well along w/the homepages. I hadn't personally noticed the other things, but think it is good for the administration to see what the members say.

Yes and No!

I like the fact that when I try to post a response when I'm not logged in, it redirects me immediately. However, it seems to take much longer to load and I have DSLIs anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I'm glad that these "worst offenders" were corrected quickly. Thank you for following up - and thank me for starting a thread to voice them. LOL.

As far as I can tell Admin hasn't read this thread yet even though I forwarded it to them, so I don't know if/when the other issues will be resolved. The bold font and underlining were fixed after the mods brought it up and before I saw this thread or before it was started. I hope someone reads it soon.
