Anyone coming to the Inauguration?

Just wondering how many from this board are going to be in town for the swearing in activities? Most hotels and motels for 100 miles around DC are booked. They are planning for 5 million people on the mall.

I have to be in two different courts that day, but if I can arrange coverage, I'm coming. I have a friend with a three bedroom townhouse near Tyson's, so I'm lucky to have somewhere to stay. She'll be going with me as well. It's going to be insane, but I think it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Since we live here and I know it will be a nightmare I plan on staying in my warm house watching it on TV. I figured it would be too complicated to load my scooter up on the car, drive to the Huntington Metro Station , get on Metro and fight the crowds with my scooter, DH and DS in tow and try to get up where I could see clearly best place to be is in my house. DS has been having some real problems with his asthma I dont think it would wise to have him or me in the cold weather.

I live in Silver Spring, MD. My son, my daughter-in-law, and granddaughter are coming in from Chicago. They are going down on the 20th but I get to babysit. My husband and I will watch it on the tv with my 7 month old granddaughter. I am a teacher so we have Monday off. I work in Montgomery County which has not canceled school yet. I am taking off anyway.

I will be watching it from the comfort of my home. No it's not the same as being there, but I doubt I'd get to really see much being there anyway with that many people expected.

We will watch from my husband's office along the parade route. We will take the subway to avoid the traffic.

My son and daughter-in-law are taking metro too. But they say that that will be packed too. My daughter's boyfriend works downtown and usually goes metro. It should be interesting. They are closing Smithsonian and Navy Memorial stops.

My son's girlfriend is on the dance team at Miami Univ of Ohio and they will be performing at the event. I will be watching it on my sofa. Personally I'd hate to fight the crowds.

I would love to go. This is one event I will most likely never attend in my life. Oh well all my designer gowns are in the shop anyway.

I just found out that they are closing the Catholic schools in the area so I don't have to work. I was taking the day off but now I don't have to use a personal day.
