I don't have any firsthand experience, but usually find info on doing this kind of thing with a search engine. This would suggest that its fairly simple: Facebook: Delete or Remove Friend | Internet | Tech-Recipes and this: http://www.technipages.com/facebook-...-a-friend.html Good luck! cj/

Yep. Go to your Friends page. To the right of the friend's info - way to the right - I think if you put your cursor over that area it will let you delete that friend. What I realized you can do is ... well, on my feed, to the right of something that came through from someone that I didn't care to see so much info about I was able to do something that indicated I wanted to see less from that friend. I have a 'friend' (actually former HS teacher) whose political leanings are way far away from mine and every day she'd join a new group for her candidate or against mine and every day there would be things come through on my feed that I just didn't get any warm fuzzies from. So... I told it to show me less from her. I didn't have to defriend her so there are not apt to be any hard feelings or anything. |

When you are on your home page, reading the news feed, look slightly to the right of that friend's feed-it'll say options. Just opt to hear less about that particular friend. I do that all the time from people who are super active on facebook. I'd hesitate to delete a friend if they haven't done anything wrong- not sure what they see at their end when you delete them.

They are not notified if you delete them. However if she checks your page, she will see that she can no longer see your profile = you defriended her. I would do as everyone else suggested, and just make sure you see less of her "news" on your feed. I have a friend that constantly invites me to use apps. I finally had to email and tell her to stop. That worked for me. I just said, "Hey Jill, I really don't use all those FB apps, could you just leave me off your invite list?" It was not a big thing and I don't get those as much (well from HER at least) Good luck

Yes, and it is very easy to remove them. In fact, I just removed about 5 people today. Go to your friend list and choose the "everyone" list. On the right side by each person's name, there will be a little "x". Click on it. It will ask if you want to remove that person. It says once you do it, you cannot undo it, and the person will NOT be notified that you have removed them. I removed some people that my son was friends with that have since moved out of the area and I really have no interest in keeping up with them. |

I appreciate all the information. Thanks so much! Since Toonces and mitcham confirmed for me that they won't be notified that they've been defriended, I hope it will just seem like I closed up my "myface" page. If they ever ask, that will be my story...definitely no use hurting friends. It is good to know that you can control the "feeds" as well. Thanks for the tutorials!
