Smile CUTHIE - Good luck today!

Don't forget the old trick - when you get up there to do your long awaited presentation, picture all the people in their underwear...

Does that work?

You're going to be FINE! And, you'll be so happy (and proud of yourself) when it's all over.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you so much! We are in the top five finalists for a large grant for our non-profit. I am only speaking for one minute. I've done my homework, written out what I'll say, and practiced, practiced, practiced. Yes, I'll be fine -- I'll picture them as first graders (my comfort zone! ). We'll find out the results in the next few weeks? I've never felt like so much is at stake. These are extremely tough times for non-profits.

We did a great job!

I have a wonderful group of supportive peers that were with me who did a great job. We had 4 people talk and showed a 5 minute DVD all in less than 10 minutes. The hardest part was the Q&A but I just stayed in the background on that

Utterly exhausting, the post-letdown and all and the 2 hour drive home with Phoenix rush hour at the beginning.

We'll know in two weeks if we got the grant. I'll keep you posted and give you more info after all is said and done!!!

Please keep us in your prayers. I am so thankful for your blessings, prayers, and best wishes today.

Thank you all!

Your prayers (and some good ol' hard work!) have paid off.

I am flying so high right now. We won a $100,000 grant! We are so blessed and I'm still not sure that it's sunk in. We won because they were so impressed with how we touch so many lives in our county.

I heard yesterday morning and had to go sub at school for half a day in the afternoon. That brought me down to earth real fast.

I just want to thank all of you. We will continue fundraising... We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase our own facility by the end of 2009 (our present 'leased' home was sold to a developer and we have one year to work our way through this).

Here is the press release. We are Horses with H.E.A.R.T., Inc.: Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation raises $2.5 million during 2008 season | dbacks.com: Official Info

Holy Moly!

Cuthie, I think you have a future in persuasive speaking...

Whoever gives out that kind of money in this economy was DEFINITELY won over by your presentation, and your overall work. It sounds like the money will go to great use. Congratulations!!

I am usually quite humble... but I can't be right now. I'm too excited. LOL.

I honestly think that we won this because we took one of our special needs' youth with us.

He had made a 5-minute DVD (which was narrated by a talking horse) about our program. He showed up in sweatpants and with a BIG smile. He crawled around under the table setting up his equipment.

HE is what won it for us. We were real and they were touched.
