I'm sorry, deddlastt - I guess I should take the blame on that for two reasons. First, for explaining to lucy that coupon trader feedback was different from user reputation and that coupon trader feedback wasn't that important in the cafe. Second, I asnwered her question as to how to use rep feedback.

I neglected to mention that normal users do NOT give negative rep often. I probably give one negative for every 30 or so positives....and that's probably about what I receive too. My most recent neg was from.....yup, you know who!

I think I've given about 3 total negs since it all started.I've recieved a few but I don't remember from who and it doesn't matter because I never carry a grudge.I also have nobody on ignore.I would feel like I was missing out on something,lol.

Well once again trouble starts again with my name. First off cjs216 why do you need to have to say sorry for me giving 3 negative rep for Deddlastt, this is between me and her not you , so honestly its none of your concern, although you seem it is your concern. Secondly to Deddlastt you deserved the 3 negative reps you have been out and out nasty to me. Constantly complaining about my posts, my grammar, picking on all my posts.You see its the same as I explained before by you coming here now and posting, what are you trying to prove, you making more trouble, and seeking more drama. You started it all by the continual nagging and ragging on me. Also what I find so ironic is that when I asked cjs216 how to leave good or bad rep, not only did she tell me, but she also answered my question in the helpdesk post I started. Then I tell her that I see, she left me bad rep and then she tells me with a lol feel free to leave me bad rep as well. Honestly ladies leave me alone, its clear we do not agree nor particularly like each other. So if in the future if each one of us has nothing nice to say, then do not post, or else either one of us will run the risk of someone leaving bad rep. Like I said we realize we do not get along and thats fine, it we were all the same and agreed on every view things would be boring. All I am asking for is to be left alone and what I mean by that in a particular way, is for both of us to refrain from posting any nasty or rude comments about each other. When Kellyjeg posted that thread about me, you went on 2 more times and tired to get me to answer your questions. Those posts were deleted. If everyone was just nice most of the time, and postive, the good rep points would far outweigh any unnecessary negatives that you might receive.

If you are getting different negs from different users .. then maybe you need to stop and reconsider how you might be coming across to others, even if you don't mean it that way.

As stated at the top, I received 3 in less than 10 days from iluvlucy420 - all from her.

In another, I also posted that I have since received no less than 5 positives, all regarding this thread. That would be 5 positives in approximately 2 hours.

Did I read the rules correctly....that you have to give out positive/negatives to 20 other people before you can "hit" the same person again??


So 3 negatives in less than 10 days means that the poster had to "hit" at least 60 other people in that time.

My reps have been stuck at 82 for a very long time.Anytime anyone gives me a rep I see it in my control panel but my rep points never change.All the people who repped me have had a high post count so its not that.

Look I want people to know I am not commenting about them negatively it's all about the individual post. I did not know you could see who gave you negative and I am not sure how to tell how many negative comments I have had. I know my rep power goes down sometimes so I just figured that someone did not like my post. I don't take it personally as a matter of fact I know my personality drives some people crazy.
So please if I have given you a negative comment on something you said it's just because I don't agree with that statement.

I agree. I think the whole rep thing is really silly -- especially since it seems like most of it is simply "tit for tat".

Lucy left me a nasty comment and a REALLY nasty email message. Do I care? Did I respond? Hell, no -- I simply considered the source and ignored it.

I have to admit, though, that it does bother me that my name is actually Catherine, too

She always seems so polite and sweet to me.I just cannot imagine her ever emailing someone a nasty comment.

I only have given one red rep and it was an error. I said something nice and hit the button and suddenly saw a RED flash. I imediately contacted a mod to "fix " it.
The person who got the red from me was a good friend and I was horrified to see the red flash.

If they were "good" for something then I could see a reason for them. There is no prize for getting them!!!!

I think the rep system was the worst thing that MC ever added!

I've only ever been aware of receiving one negative rep. Unless there is a way to view them all, I can't say for sure.

There was just a one-word comment left. I can't remember exactly what it was - wish I could go back and see - but it was something like "BIGOT!!!!!!!!".

Really gave me the warm fuzzies....

ETA: I certainly wasn't hurt or pained when I got the negative rep. I found it rather amusing and pretty brash and brazen that anyone would feel comfortable enough just 'saying' that privately to me in my ear during our big party here. That's what it *felt* like, anyway, since those comments only go straight to the one they're about, straight from the one who 'said' them, and nobody else can see them. I think I mentally gave the 'repper' a look that said, "Allllrighty then. Aren't you sweet?" and rolled my eyes. lol

That is WHY I think they are a bad idea.

Some one would think it ok to leave a bad rep, but would never say these things in person to you.

Exactly. And I think that is the main problem with the rep system: there are a few posters who give a negative rep every time they don't agree with a post

You mentioned the nasty email, it was not nasty, but thats neither here nor there. However I only emailed you to tell you that the posts you made here referring to me being a bad trader elsewhere and also that you had a link, and would forward it to anyone who wanted and then you wrote I forwarded the link. To talk about issues outside of mycoupons. com is againist the rules. Hence I emailed the mods and they deleted it. To say something about someone else and send a link and not let me explain the other side of the story is not fair.What goes on here at mycoupons.com remains here.I also firmly agree with all the other posters that the rep system is not fair. I stand by my belief that since you decided to brag about what wonderful coupon trader feedback you have here at MC, that you opened the door to let prospective traders know that while you might have good feedback here, that is certainly not the case at another trading site. Since I did not name that site nor did I post a link here, I don't see where I broke any rules.

I gave the link PRIVATELY to those who asked for it. I guess some eyes were opened with that information: at least they can now make an informed decision about whether they would want to trade with you.

Like I said, Kellyjef, there are always 2 sides of the story, you broke the rules and the posts were deleted. End of story. My feedback repuatation here stands for itself. Catherine

Obviously Lucy's been spreading her negs to everyone. I just checked mine and she negged me on the WalMart thread.

So, if you get a negative do you lose a rep point?

What really is the point of have rep points? I can see that maybe if you are making a trade, but other than that who cares? They should have a cut off point of maybe 25 points and then you will know that you can probably make a good trade with that person.

I don't believe that your posts broke any rules either. Sometimes mods make mistakes and sometimes the squeaky wheel gets greased....but they do the best that they can.

But you know what? I have no idea what this whole coupon trading thing is about....I don't understand the trading back and forth of coupons for pennies...all seems very odd to me, but seems I might be the only one who doesn't trade coupons. So....coupon trader repuatation doesn't mean a thing to me. Now, posting bargains and sharing information ON TOPIC and not being a complete and utter goofball, that part of reputation I get.

How do you find old negs? I never even knew about them so I've probably gotten some that I never even saw because they're now off my screen.

Oh I am not going to sleep yet. My DH is still awake and I haven't annoyed him enough yet. It is pay back time for all of the times he tries to tickle my feet when I am relaxing.
