Ignore Button

I have never used it I was wondering about it. I am sure a lot of people have me on ignore LOL. So is there a blank spot where I post? What about when I start a thread? I kind of know who has me on ignore when I make a post or a thread and those who respond to almost everything don't respond. At least that's my theory.

Instead of their post, you will see "This message is hidden because **** is on your ignore list. " message.

You can opt to see what they say by clicking a "view post" link.
And if someone in the thread quotes them, you will still see what they've posted.

You can also opt to take them off ignore as well, so it's not permanent.

If they start a post, you can see the title/subject and their name on the main topic page.

Anna, you can experiment by adding someone to your list and seeing what happens. It is easy to take them off again.

I don't have anyone on ignore. I did it one time for one day (!) but then I had to keep on clicking on 'view post' because I couldn't follow conversations without reading the posts. I can't even remember that poster's name... that was a LONG time ago!

I've just learned to not let the drama get to me. I have bigger fish to fry in my real life. Basically, I read a thread but then go back to the first post in a thread and reply to that... especially if things have gone off-topic. I don't think that it does my head or my heart any good to get into the middle of any of the drama. Our board is where I come to relax so I don't let any of it get to me... It is a choice that I wish more people would make because I see so many people getting pulled into such drama over and over again. Sad.

Several years ago, I posted in an eBay chat room. Now that was drama!!! One of the very nice oldtimer gentlemen in there told me to remember that what people are posting are *only* pixels on a screen... don't let them get to you. I carry that with me.

Wow, the text in the message box is finally big enough for me to see! So cool!

I didn't think that it really bothered you. I just posted for those who care enough to read such a long post! Haha. I do get carried away sometimes.

I am just too darn nosy to put someone on ignore. LOL I want to know what everyone is saying especially those who tend to disagree with me. I learn the most from them!
Now your posts are too darn logical and informative why can't you sometimes post something juicy? LOL

yeah, that's the only reason I don't use the ignore button, either.

I don't use the Ignore button because I am afraid that I will miss something.....If the drama starts I want to " hear" every word. ((smiles))

I have signatures turned 'off' and now I'm wondering what's going on in those but I think I'll pass on that for now.
