Shaving legs??

I remember one year my friends and I got on the topic of shaving legs in the winter. None of us did very often. We sat there pulling our pant legs up and checked who had the longest hair.LOL! We live in NY state so its cold for many months and none of us have to wear dresses/skirts for jobs so pants covered our legs all winter. I was thinking about this today when I was shaving my legs in the shower. The only reason I shaved them was I am going for a Body massage and of course its needed now. LOL!

So How many of you shave less frequently in the winter months?

I told my friends Because I am German I have the best excuse because Many Germans do not shave at all. I have many relatives in Germany.

I am German and I rarely shave my legs. There really isn't much hair to shave.I only have a small patch on the outside of my calves that even grows any hair that is noticable. The rest is so scarce, fine, and blonde ,that it can't be seen or felt.

German here, too (passport and all!). Since we have just come out of No-Shave-November, and I still have not shaved, I'm considering braiding now

During the winter I hardly shave. These New England winters can be brutal at times and I need something to keep me warm! hehehe Heck, I even hate shaving in the summer, but I usually do. If I'm going somewhere where I need to wear a skirt/dress I'll do it.

I still wear shorts to the gym almost every day in the winter; so I shave my legs the same as always.

Me, too. I wear shorts to jazzercise 3-4 times a week, so I keep on shaving all winter long.

Okay, for you non-shavers -- a question: Do you ever get over that itchy feeling? I shave every other day year around. (I have extremely dry skin, otherwise might even shave every day.) But it's not the hair that grosses me out (in the winter, mind you ) But it's the awful itchy skin that drives me to shave year around. Does it go away after a period of non-shaving? If so, I just might join the braiders club -- its all of 9 degrees outside right now...I need all the insulation I can get!

I shave!

But, hair does grow qucker in the winter (same as a dog gets a thicker coat, we do the same), so I shave actually more often than I do in the summer.
My mom is German/Russian and she does not ever shave.

Same for me. I haven't shaved in years! Goes for my under arms as well.

I've heard of those Sasquatch sitings before. I thought it was a hoax or something, but knowing how often I need to shave even during the winter, I understand how someone could easily make that mistake if shaving was abandoned during the winter months.

Just kidding!

I am lucky I have very light fine hair on my arms and legs. I don't have to shave as often as most people. It just doesn't really grow.

Funny story I had my leg in a cast for 12 weeks. The guy who had to remove my cast after said 12 weeks gets the saw and cuts the cast and pulls it off. He looks at my leg and looks and me and says Wow! your leg hair doesn't grow much does it? I had no idea what he meant by that so I said huh? He said usually when he takes a cast off of a women the hair is so long and thick you could brush it. (eww) he said I can't even see yours lol.

I usually just shave when I am going to wear something that shows my legs or I know I am gonna get lucky with the hubby can't have hairry legs when you get lucky.

Yes, I forgot to put that in. To each their own. I didn't mean to imply that someone wasn't clean if they didn't shave their legs. To each their own. It happens to bother me, so I shave. DH lived in Germany for three years. The women over there didn't shave. This was back in the 70's so I'm not sure if it's the same way now or not. I'm hoping that when I go through menopause that my hair growth on my legs slows down like it did for my Mom. After menopause she hardly had any hair on her legs anymore. That would be nice! ~Lisa

In the winter months I do not shave my legs unless they are going to show. I am Italian and very furry LOL when I was 10 in 1972 I went to Italy I could not believe the hair under the arms and on the legs!
I do shave my armpits although less frequently than in the summer and spring.

I do still shave regularly, but in my younger days traveling in Europe, I let the hair grow! Dark and furry......icky at first, but then soft.

On the other hand, I have experimented with shaving "all" body hair for fun.......yeah right, I am from Minnesota and believe me, everything gets cold!!

I am shaving less this winter only because DH was working nights and is residing in another state at this time. On Tuesday I will go back to my regular shaving schedule.

I'm half German, half Irish.

I shave under my arms every day, and my legs about every 3 days.
