| Jessica Alba airbrushed
Have ya'll seen this. I think she looks great before the airbrushing, but look how much they shaved off her torso and thighs. And her knee. And look at the collarbones they added. Jessica Alba is not picture perfect! Do we care? | The Dish Rag | Los Angeles Times She had a baby what, three months ago? Stuff like this always reminds me of those Dove commericals. There's an interesting video on youtube that feels very relevant here. I won't embed it, since the subject is not fully clothed and is showing her full behind. However, it is not sexual in nature- the video is meant to show just how far a skilled photoshopper can go in altering a photo. It's amazing and I encourage you to check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZDHQ9b9fbo |

"In the after, she has a darker tan, narrower chin, less flesh on her thighs, less crinkles on the shorts, a way perkier and more defined bust and brighter makeup. " How do you know that these are not two different pics taken at two different times?? The hair is totally different, the stance is different. The pool looks completely different and not just the water.... Regardless, I think that this heading says it all: "Jessica Alba is not picture perfect! Do we care?" Why the hell do we care? I have a friend who gets totally caught up in all the celeb drama and the did she or didnt she surgery pictures... and I have to ask her all the time.. Why do you care?? I just dont get it. I guess some people are so unhappy in their loves that they have to live vicariously through others... And that I truly do not understand... |

I have a friend who used to do this exact work -- airbrushing pictures. He did them for magazines, catalogs, etc. (yes, even those JCPenney models are airbrushed). He said you'd be amazed at what can be done -- he's taken inches off thighs, waists, arms and takes away all the 'flaws'. He said he can spot an 'airbrushed' photo at first glance and that most pictures we see in magazines, etc. have been airbrushed. Like another poster said, it's no wonder our young girls have such a problem worrying about their looks and weight. |

1. Yes I think this is horrible and creates an unrealistic expectation for young women and young men. 2. However, I like to retouch photos of my family, lol. At a recent wedding there was a picture of me and my gfs. I took off our double chins, lifted our boobs, took inches off our hips, added hair where we were thinning....we laughed so hard. One time I took a picture of my mom and her twin at 85 and retouched their photos (removed age spots and fixed wrinkles). It was my mom's favorite photo!
