Got a job yesterday

I started a new job yesterday. I had been retired for 3 years but I needed the money. It is in a grocery store and very few people use coupons! I asked what the problem was that kept their clients from using them and they said that sometimes the store runs triples and people save them up for the sale. I get less coupons for a day than some of you use for one order..I have to laugh as I know none of the mycouponers shop there.

Congats on the new job!!

I am always amazed at the people who say it is not worth it to use coupons.
I always ask if they would pick a dollar up off the ground in the parking lot?
Same difference as a dollar is a dollar!

I use them and so does my family.

Congrats on the job!

I'm with Grannyshirl - it's like when you hear that the lottery jackpot is "only" up to one million...why bother playing??

I don't think I could ever stop couponing completely. At this point, it's a sport!

Congratulations on the new position. Perhaps you may be able to educate some of the shoppers on the art of everyday couponing while being employed there.

Congratulations on your new job! How rewarding to snag a position when so many are losing theirs and the market is tight. You go!

As for coupons, if that's how a person derives satsifaction and feel they generate value to their household...hats off to them. Sometimes people generate value/revenue for their family in other ways.....that's what makes the world go round! Let's value diversity.....

Grannyshirl , I am with ya all the way when it comes to using coupons and I truly cannot also understand why someone would choose not to use coupons, especially if you area offers double and triples like mine do. I work hard for my money and my dh works extremely hard and he loves all the savings. However to each its own.. Peace and stay safe in this holiday season. Catherine

Congratulations now maybe you will have to save some of your coupons for triple coupon days! Do you get a discount? I know that some stores do and some don't.

I don't coupon either. I also bring in revenue in ways that I think are easier for me then couponing.

Sorry no discount at this store. But I did get 2 whole coupons for working a 6 hour shift. I hear some of you gasping for air. The funny thing is I don't get the newspaper or coupon on a regular basis but I am able to get my food very cheap at a store very close to my home. I hate to pay more than a dollar for anything.
