| Describe your favorite Christmas tree ornament
Most of us would have our trees up by now. Which ornament floods you with emotion, makes you smile or brings back a cherished memory? I love every one of those on my tree since most are hand made or were bought at special times or have some memory attached to it. My favorite is a china open heart with the stars and stripes decorating it. There is a 3 dimensional dove in the center of the heart and the word PEACE written in gold at the bottom. It was given to me by a former student who would visit me at school when he was home from the service..... with just too many trips to Iraq.

The ones that are my favorite of course are the ones each one of my children made in kindergarten, they are a star shape and are decorated by them and in the front is a small picture of them. Those will be cherished forever and ever. Peace. Catherine

I love all the pinecones dipped in glue and glitter by my girls when in preschool! Priceless, as you all know for yourselves. My favorite non-family one is a reindeer that my best friend from H.S. made me out of a big red bell for the body and some fabric. I love it.

I don't have just one favorite because most of my ornaments are from trips I've taken/gifts from friends, etc. But I do have a great story about a pair of earrings I hang on the tree every year. Back when I was graduating from college, my roomies and I were very close. Several of us were graduating at the same time so the one roomies boyfriend(now husband)went and got gifts for us, all on his own. My gift was a HUGE pair of pierced earrings with the Penn State logo on them, think giant dangly blue balls with logos on them. However, I did not have pierced ears. I was just going to let that fact go but the others pointed the fact out. He felt terrible but I said it was ifne that I would just hang them on my Christmas tree since they were balls and already had hooks in them. Every year since then I've hung them on my tree and when I do I stop and think about all the fun we had back in those days.
