High heels?

I remember a 3rd grade teacher that I had growing up. She wore 4 inch heels every day. I wonder if she's wearing them to this day! That was 30 years ago.

The highest that I go is about 1 inch? Usually I'm in flats... love my Skechers. I just got myself a few more pairs off of the Amazon sale and my feet are doing the happy dance.

How about you? Do you wear high heels?

Almost exclusively. Most of my shoes are three inch heels. My boots are also three inch except for my sheepskin boots which have no heel. My flip flops are mostly platforms also. You have to know that I am only five feet tall so I love heels! I also think clothes look better with heels. We have had the clothes discussion before and I refuse to walk around looking like I am going to scrub the floors everywhere I go.
I don't necessarily say "I'm going to the grocery store I am putting on high heels" It's just that's what I wear and I am not going to dress down or schlumpdinka up just because I am going to the grocery store.

I forgot to say not all heels are uncomfortable. I am on my feet all day at work and I wear my heels for six to eight hours a day. It's a matter of trying on a lot of shoes which you could probably guess I love!

Can't stand heels. Don't really like shoes at all but if I have to wear them it is either my Teva flip flops, my Uggs or my tennis shoes (only wear these when I have to as I have foot claustrophobia).

I have the prettiest flip-flops. And I miss 'em, since it's very cold here!

I have a pair of boots and a pair of clogs with one inch heels. They make me feel like I'm really tall, and I feel a little powerful when I wear them!

I'm happiest in my bare feet.

I am weird....my favorite thing to be is barefoot (even in snow), but if I have shoes on they are heels...even my boots.

No heels here either ~ mostly flip flops all year 'round, except at work where I wear flat dress shoes.

Well, in the summer, I usally wear keds or sandals. In the winter, boots or skechers. I'll wear heels to church on Sunday, but that's about it.

WOW another person that likes to walk in snow bare footed. I thought I was the only one. Heels are for funerals and weddings only.

I love to be barefoot! If I can't be barefoot in the summer, then it's flip flops. If I'm dressing up for work usually it's a flat or a one inch heel (boots or shoes). I do have a pair of knee high boots with a 3 inch heel, but I have to have a certain "attitude" to wear those out.

And yes, I've gone barefoot in the snow (I'm from Wisconsin, after all!).

I wear a 2-3" heel for work most of the time. At 5'3-1/2" I need all the vertical help I can get. I have to wear a fairly chunky heel to be comfortable though. I wear sneakers mostly on the weekends though.

I wear heels almost daily. My students know when I am coming down the hall because they hear me clacking. They laugh on the days that I don't wear heels because they see just how much shorter I am without them. I usually wear about 3 inch heels, sometimes higher and occassioanlly shorter.

I love heeled boots for the winter months. I just bought a killer pair of UGG heels. I have a couple pairs of really sexy Carlos Santana boots that I wear a lot.

Hm... I think the last time I wore dressy shoes was my wedding over 10 years ago, and they weren't that high.

I wear heels when I get dressed up but for daily wear, I'm in flats or very low heels. I'm 5'8" so when I wear heels, I tower over all my friends and that makes me uncomfortable and self conscious and then I start to slouch so I try to stick to a 2" heel for dressier shoes.

Oh I love heels but due to some medical issues don't wear them often. My favorite pair are 2 inches high. There is something powerful about wearing a kick butt pair of heels. Makes me think of the Bob Segar song "Her strut"

Devinmom I totally agree with you I am most comfortable in bare feet.. I do have to wear dress school and a low heel to work because I am more comfortable in skirts and dresses and of course then pantyhose which I hate hate .When I come home it all comes off. Also as I get older wearing shoes makes my feet hurt and its plain uncomfortable. I once watched a Orpah show wear she admitted she removes her heels all the time on the show, that while she loves shoes her feet hurt so much.Peace and stay safe in this holiday season.. Catherine

I used to wear heels every day to work. But I haven't worn heels now for at least 10 years. I don't even own any anymore. My feet aren't used to it anymore and it hurts too much. Not worth it!

High heels are only for showers, weddings and funerals to me. I can't walk in them. I am a sandals and tennis shoes kind of girl.

I never thought I wear heals much, but as I think of my shoes, they are all pretty tall except my sneakers and thongs, flip flops not the undies . I wear a lot of Born which are probably 2" heals and I have lots of platform flip flops for the summer.

What I CAN NOT wear are the little, skinny heals like on mules, I just think they look out of proportion to my big butt, and I would be afraid they wouldn't be able to carry the load.

I live in high heels. I only were flats/flip flops or tennis shoes when necessary....like to work out or go to the beach.

I can't imagine not wearing heels. I love how they make me look and mostly, how they make me feel.

I like to wear heels because I'm short and I think my legs and butt look better when I wear heels. That said, I usually wear my Dansko clogs every day. I don't wear heels at home. I like to wear them if we go out and won't be walking everywhere (I have yet to find a pair of heels I can walk around in all evening. I like them to be 2-3". I have boots with 3.5" heels and I like to wear them out as well. During the day, unless it's a business meeting, you won't see me in heels. They aren't practical in my life

The gal that colored my hair at the beauty college had such cute boots with heels. She was short and she really did look nice!

However, I can't imagine being on your feet all day wearing shoes like that -- maybe if you had a desk job!

Maybe it is because I am overweight but my feet hurt in many flats and I can hardly walk in heels.

Oh well, I guess it's a good thing that I'm tall!

I'm 5'10" so I don't wear them often. Mine are more of a wedge (maybe an inch).

I just bought a pair of slip-ons that are so incredibly cute and I love the look of them. Problem is, I tower over DH.

At home I'm barefoot. Love being in my barefeet, and back home my favorite thing to do would be to walk around in the summer outside in my barefeet. Here I'm only barefoot in the house, when I leave I tend to wear heels, but I think annadrose is so right when she talks about trying on a variety of heels. You would be surpised, I have found heels that are more comfortable then my dansko's and tennis shoes. I like feeling like I'm tall, but also like the way my pants leg falls when I'm wearing heels, It make my legs look longer. I do have flats, I had to have these after I broke my foot, and wasn't allowed to wear heels for a good long while! I actually missed 'em!

I never wear high heels.I could not imagine wearing those things for more than an hour. I do have some boots that have a very wide 2 inch heal on them.I occasionally wear them when my bf wears his harley boots .He is already much taller than me and is even taller when he wears those harley boots,so I will wear the high heel boots so I can be up there with him, lol. But it is very uncomfortable and my feet will hurt.
I don't know how any woman can wear those pointy ones that are 4 inch tall ,with a thin stick for a heel.I would break my ankle and fall on my face trying to wear those things.

The cute and comfy high heels I wear are Soda, Mudd, Union Bay, LEI, Madden Girl, Cufew, I get all my shoes at 50% off or more usually at Fred Meyer's. My dream for the shoes is like my dream for the purses: to be able to someday wear the really expensive beautiful shoes. I love LOVE LOVE Kelly Ripa's shoes on her show.
Some of Oprah's are very nice also but she says they are very uncomfortable only for sitting. I think if you try on enough shoes you can find cute ones that are comfy.
I also get a lot of shoes from mydivascloset.com.

I LOVE my Chaps High Heel Pumps that I got from Kohls.
They are the most comfortable pump I have ever worn. I can wear them all day!

Chaps Fontana Pumps - Black

Seriously, if you have problems walking in high heels for long periods, these are the best I have ever, EVER found.

I am going to buy myself more, as a matter of fact. Because it is so hard to find a pair of heels that don't kill your feet when you are heavier.

The key is to get a chunkier heel to distribute the weight better and some padding/thickness in the footbed

I'm 6'0 without the shoes. I like being even taller. Maybe it's a power thing...I love walking into a board room or meeting and shaking hands and looking down.

Nope....I have problems walking in barefeet, don't give me heels! LOL I think the last time I wore heels was when my old boss got married and that was like 10 years ago. I do have some heels but don't really have any occasion to wear them. Maybe when we go to church on Christmas Eve, but that depends on the weather. I'm more comfortable in my sneakers or barefoot.

LOVE HEELS!

Wearing them makes me feel feminine, pretty, sexy and powerful ( "I am woman hear me roar").
I wear 3 inch bootie type heels w/ my jeans, I have 3 pair of boots w/ heels, numerous (and I do mean NUMEROUS) pairs of pumps, peep toe, wedges, slides, strappy sandals--and all have 2.5+ heels. I have a pair of riding boots that barely have a heel, and one pair of slides that have a one inch heel. And of course the obligatory tennis shoes, snow boots, flip-flops.
I have a shoe problem....

Here are my newest "dress" shoes and they are soooo comfortable and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them in the week since I got them ... click on black. The fabric is black with shimmery reds, golds, and olives.

They are great for the holiday season but I think they'll look nice for Fall and Spring as well:
