Where do you hide your Christmas Presents?!

Every since I was little, I always wondered how my mother and father did it. All of the days leading up to Christmas there wasn't a gift to be found, but sure enough.. on Christmas morning our tree was always piled high w/presents! I still don't know all of her secrets, but I guess that's what makes Christmas fun!

Just curious, where do you hide your gifts until it's time to give them away?

In my closet. My kids know where they are. They are 12 & 14. When they were little we told them if they found out their Christmas gifts before Christmas, they would be returned. Now we just talk about how the surprise would be spoiled and Christmas morning wouldn't be as exciting if they already knew what they were getting.

When I was a kid my mom kept them in her closet and we all knew it. I never once looked before Christmas. I don't think my sister & brother did, either, but I'm not sure.

When my dds were younger we used an opportunity to drive the point home! We found out a few days before Christmas that we got DHs parents the same thing as DHs sister & her husband did. It was already wrapped and under our tree. When we got home we unwrapped it and took it back to get something else so they didn't have a duplicate. Our kids were asking why we were taking it back and we told them and grandma & grandpa found out what it was before Christmas and that was the rule! It made a huge impression on them!

In a big ol' rubbermaid container in the basement. My kids would never look there. I have tons of the same containers in the basement with my work related stuff, stuff from our move that we haven't sorted yet, etc. We keep it there all year long so it's not like "hey, there is an new container...wonder what's in it?". There is another container of old bedding on top of it. I was sneaky as a kid trying to find out where the gifts were and I know that *I* wouldn't take the time to take down multiple containers and go thru them all to make sure my gifts weren't hidden with sheets and yard sale stuff.

I've got some in my closet, a few in a big box in the dining room....it has rolls of wrapping paper and a bag of bows...so it looks like a big box of wrapping stuff, and some are upstairs just sitting in a chair. My girls know they are not allowed upstairs so I'm safe there (it's just small stuff in non descript boxes). I have a feeling this will be the last year my 9yo will believe in Santa too, she told me some of her friends don't believe so it's only a matter of time. I can only hope she won't spoil it for her little sister, I want it to last as long as I can!

Behind my clothes in my closet. Neither one of my kids were ever snoopers, thankfully!

For bigger stuff, in the trunk, the attic or over at a family member or friend's house.

Sorta like "Hidding in plain site" - I LOVE IT!

Like a lot of the others - they are in my closet - kids know they are there, but if they snoop it only ruins it for them. As far as I know they haven't looked...as far as I know

I used to hide them in the basement shower since it is never used. Since my dd admitted to me that she knows all my hiding places, I started stashing them in the cartop carrier in the basement. It locks and the only keys are on DH's keychain and on mine.

My old neighbor offered me his garage for storage. Now stash them in the empty Xmas decoration containers, in my closet and some at my mom's house.

Since I have 2 very nosey teenagers, everything is at my parents! I've done this for the last 3 years!

I remember doing the samething as a kid! Matter of fact, my parents thought they'd get us by wrapping everything. Well, little did they know, we'd just unwrap the end to see what it was and re-tape it! Now I know where mine get it from!

We hide a few presents at my parents' house, like the 6ft surfboard for our 15 yr. old DS. But DH has a really big walk-in closet. And in that closet is a full-size door that leads to excess attic space. There is a padlock on that door, and we use it year round.

Lol! This is EXACTLY what I do too! They've never figured it out, and the gift boxes look like they're just clothes ready to grow into...

Under the bed, in the closet, and in the spare bedroom. They could easily snoop if they were so inclined. But basically, they tend to get everything on their (reasonable/conservative) wish lists and have for years....so I guess there's no big thrill in it...

I used to hide their gifts in the empty Christmas decoration boxes. I guess the kids figured there was no point snooping in empty boxes.

Now I bring the gifts home and wrap them immediatley. I don't wrap them in the correct boxes (most of the time) I love that I can walk past the kids with bags in hand and they don't even realize I have their gifts.

Usually I just put the gifts right under the tree after they are wrapped. However, this year, we are moving on Dec 19th so I have their gifts in a bag that I can be sure to bring with us.

DD's little baby swing and slide are put together and in the attic, the rest of her stuff is in my closet. As she gets older I will get more creative. I would hate it if she found out about Santa by finding gifts in the house that ultimately ended up being from him. Even if she found the gifts while snooping to see what Mama got her, afterall, it's what kids do!! Part of the fun, I think.

Mine are in my eBay bins. Long ago, they lost interest in that area of the house!

I have some in the back of my closet ( I have actually lost gifts in this area before, to find them long after Christmas! LOL!) the big ones I lock up in the shed, I have the only key, and it's pretty much always on me. I used to put them under the bed too, but the dogs tend to dig under the bed for lost toys. I have had to put some under the tree already, we are running out of room in hiding spots. In our old place, I used to hide the gifts in the kids closets. They would be in back of their out of season clothes. They never thought to look in their own closets.

In my underwear drawer my DH never looks in there!!! When my DS was younger it was tucked in the closet or I kept them in rubbermaid bins.

Wel since we all buy for each other with that being said the kids keep their presents for us in their own rooms. The gifts we give to our children are all in my husbands office. However since they are older now it truly is not a problem.Omg we me and dh have not wrapped a single gift come 12/24 we will be in that room with wrapping paper and tags and marker and tape and it will be a mess but it will be a fun mess. peace and stay safe in this holiday season. I used to keep them up in the attic or hidden in the back of the garage when the kids were small. Now I just keep the presents in the back of my bedroom closet. ~Lisa

My DS6 doesn't expect any presents to be here before Santa comes so no worries about snooping!
