We like watching the Grinch (the cartoon one) the best, but we like all the other ones too....Rudolph, Frosty, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Charlie Brown Christmas, etc.

Now I'm trying to find if and when National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation will be on, I have Direct TV and I have searched and searched online but can't find if it's on this year. Anyone have any clue if it's being shown at all??? (and I tried searching using the search feature on my remote but that didn't come up with anything either...)

I love Nestor too! I like Rudolph and the other old school ones that I watched with my family when I was young.

I went to tvguide.com and looked up Christmas Vacation. Here's the link: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Trailer, Reviews and Schedule for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

If you scroll down to the fourth one, the TV listings one, you can try the "Click here for local listings".

We are huge A Christmas Story fans. We always watch the marathon when we get home from the annual Christmas Eve party at my in-laws house. A few years ago, they surprised my dh with a leg lamp like the one in the movie. They even had a big wooden crate made with Fragile written on the outside of it! The lamp proudly sits in our living room window for all the world to see!

We're planning on going to Ohio over Christmas to see the house and museum and HOPEFULLY come home with a leg lamp....I have THE PERFECT front window to put it in!!!

My favorite is the original Grinch cartoon.

I do NOT like the Frosty cartoon. Frosty's voice gets on my nerves.

We were talking about Nestor at work the other day. It's funny how many people have never seen that one. I don't think it is/was shown on tv nearly as much as some of the others.

One I really like but haven't seen in a long time is Emmett Otters Jugband Christmas.

Janenga, the Christmas Story house is GREAT! We went a year ago and I'm sure they've added more stuff since then. Got a hilarious photo of my dad running his hand up the leg lamp. "Electric sex gleaming in the window".

Emmit Otters Jug Band Christmas for me. I haven't seen it in years and most people are not familiar with the show. It is silly with the Muppet type puppets and you can see the metal supports, but I love it.

I had totally forgotten about Nestor! I haven't seen it since I was very young.

I love:

A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Year Without a Santa Claus (I'm so bummed I missed the new special/sequel The Miser Brothers Christmas that aired Dec. 13)
The Little Drummer Boy

Miracle On 34th Street....Must be the original, in black and white only!
Charlie Brown Christmas

Would love to see March Of The Wooden Soldiers, but I haven't seen it on TV in ages! Would always watch that with my cousin sitting our grandpa's lap.

I hated the remake of Miracle on 34th! I Love Love Love the original and have never seen it colorized---didn't know that they did it. B&W is the only way I would want to see it too!

Never heard of Nestor either.

The Grinch that stole Christmas (original)

Charlie Brown

I own both on DVD so I'm no longer at the mercy of the cable company or networks.

I bought 'March of the Wooden Soldiers' on VHS about 6-yrs ago at one of the $1 stores. And watching it again after all those years sure did bring back childhood memories. (LOL) Then I found it on clearance on DVD for about $3.50 last year, but I don't even remember which store it was. I was just so happy to find it on DVD for that price. FYI, you can get it on DVD for about $7.50 - $10 (shipped) online.

Believe it or not, I've never seen 'Miracle on 34th Street' before. I found it on DVD (B&W version w/Thomas Mitchell) at one of the $1 stores a couple of years ago. (Dollar Tree, I think.) And it's still unopened. I should probably do something about that. (LOL)

As far as my favorites....

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Carol (1951 B&W w/Alastair Sim)
Funny Farm
Trapped in Paradise

I've also never seen Nestor or 'A Christmas Story'. But, 'A Christmas Story' is my DS's favorite (he used to watch it at his granny's house), so I think I'll have to watch it this year if I can catch it on TV.

BTW, I've never seen 'ET' either. (LOL)
