We went over to Faith Farm to look for a "new" couch & love seat, which we found. We also wound up with a huge new dining room table & 6 chairs. I needed the chairs, not the table, but it was a nice looking set and after DH's "senior discount" we picked up all of it for $400.00! The stuff is pretty much like new.

At any rate, the chairs have a nubby kind of beige fabric that I KNOW is gonna get trashed with everyday use, kids, cat using it as a bed...etc. (our kitchen & dining room are one big room)

I was thinking of getting those chair slipcover things. Does anyone use them? are they a bitch to use, wash, etc??? I was looking on Ebay, but didn't really see anything I loved. What I want is just the short ones that will cover the chair and the seat, not the ones that go all the way to the floor, like a ballgown... :-)

I just want to keep the chair seat & back clean and be able to throw them in the washer when they get dirty. I also don't want to spend as much I did on the whole set just to cover the chairs.....

Those must of been pretty popular seat covers! They're gone already! LOL!

What would be involved in changing the fabric to a leather or vinyl? Would be a lot easier to clean.

I know BBB had some nice chair slipcovers, also.

In this case it would be hard, because the back and seat have the same fabric, but they have wood framing around the fabric.

I'm not in terrible rush, but I would like to get them covered with more than a towel pretty soon!

Toonces, are they Parson chairs?

I have chair slipcovers for one of out dining chair set. They are very easy to put on and take off to wash when needed. I like them because they give a nice, clean look and I can update the look when I change the decor. I would recommend them.

I have looked at a couple places, including Target, which had some for $5.99 on sale, but they all seem to be the long ones. I just want some everyday covers.....ya know?

Oh my those chairs are nice!

I see why you'd want short ones, the legs are very nice and you would not want to totally cover them. Plus shorter makes the look more casual.
