Son came to NY from N. Carolina and brought a bushel of oysters for 10 of us. Delicious we all love them. They took about 2 hours with 2 people opening them.
There were quite a few they could not get to open and were going to throw them out being we had so many. We ate till stuffed and still have a bucket left. I said I would put the ones in the oven that refused to open and as soon as they started I would open them with a knife. So I sat and opened them and ate those. I was chewing and thought I had sand in my mouth but when I took it out it was a pearl.It is 1/4 inch long and oval shaped. Everybody was shocked. I don't know what to do with it but look at it. Like I always tell them Granny knows best don't throw anything out if you can do something with it.

How cool can you take it to a jeweler and have it made into a ring or a necklace of some sorts?
