Seriously! How stupid do I look to you!

My 17 3/4 yr old high school senior son, and his 18 1/2 yr old college girlfriend, broke up Thursday night. (SHE broke up with HIM). She timed this perfectly, so that she was able to receive her (expensive) Christmas gift from him first....

ANYWAY... just to keep him hanging on, she left it by saying she hopes they will still be able to be together some day.

Sunday night she picked him up at home and they went to a church Christmas party together.

Monday (last night) they went out for dinner and to the mall.

Today was his last day of school before 2 weeks of vacation. He wakes up and says he is too sick to go to school and flops back in bed. Uh huh.... first of all, I was off work today and he hates it when I stay home and he has to go to school. Secondly, SHE was off school and I'm sure he wanted to stay home and text her all day.

SO - just a few minutes ago, he came to me and said "(girl) wants me to go to the mall with her and help her pick out a Christmas gift for her sister."

GUESS WHAT I SAID!!!!!

HOW STUPID DO I LOOK TO YOU? You were too sick to go to school today, but you were well enough to run around last night with (girl), and now think I am going to let you go to the mall with (girl)?????

N - O. No.

He says, and I quote, "WHATEVER"

"Whatever" is what they say when they know you are right. That is what I tell my husband when he says "whatever" to me.
You don't look stupid to me obviously you have a clue now and then!

Oh, dang. I was hoping to see a picture of you so I could truely see if you look stupid. LOL

Kids...they must not think we have a brain in our heads. And, why on earth would (girl) keep wanting to hang out after she broke up with him?
I don't get it.

Teenagers think their parents are the stupidest people in the world, I swear. I don't get the ex-GF hanging out thing either. But then again, I'm a parent....therefore I'm stupid.

ditto on the stupid parent thing. Both of my boys are home from college for the holidays and I can't believe how stupid they think DH and I are. We are so stupid that I hardly know how we can even function for the 9 month they are away at college. Good lord, please don't ever let us go on the "gong show".

({[X]}) That's me doing a happy dance for you. This is good (right?) that they broke up, she was giving you all sorts of grief. Yeah to you! And good for you, stand your ground... Hopefully son will get his head out of the clouds before she wrings any more money from him. Boys in love can be so dumb...

That's a rule that's been around here from day 1. If you're too sick to go to school, you're too sick to do.......insert whatever it is they want to pull (play outside, go to the movies, etc). It's in the terms and agreement for sick days.

Same rule in our house. No school.....be prepared to have a very long, boring day stuck at home with your mom!
