I have two favorite gifts. One was my simple two slice toaster. Nothing fancy-just $6 at Walmart that my son bought. We have this big, four- slice toaster that only toasts a few sides of the bread, and takes up so much room. Not to mention, it is probably about 16 years. old. I was so happy to throw that baby in the garbage can. It was so awful that I don't think any charity would have wanted it! My other favorite gift was from my mom and dad. Here it is:

Helman - Old-Fashioned Movie Time Popcorn Maker - CCP-BLK

Fortunately, they found a good deal and did not pay quite that much for it. It is something that I have always wanted. It will look so cool in our family room, and eventually the playroom. We entertain a lot, and usually have a buttload of teens in the house. We will use this a lot. Our across-the-street neighbors have one too. They brought it out into the court on Halloween night, and instead of giving out candy, gave out fresh-popped, popcorn. What I love about receiving this gift, is that it is so frivolous, something I have wanted for a few years, and something that I don't think I could justify buying for myself.

The gift wasn't for me ( I dont get gifts But its OK been that way for years now ) But I can tell you the best gift the family and kids received. I got my son a Xbox 360 elite for Christmas. ( Well it was suppose to be for the family or so thats what we told the others ).Oh my he has played this game since taken it out of the box, Then we took the guitar hero out , wow ! He's a pro a this. J and C and me all played against each others scores. My son can't put this thing down. He went to bed only to get back up to "master" 1 song he can't seem to win LOL..My 12 yo DD is really good playing too. She holds top scores on 4 songs thus far. I can honesty say. It was the best money I had ever spent for a Christmas present.( Of course meaning the family present LOL ).

My 12 yo DD loved her Crammer ( leapfrog) and the Hannah Montana MP3 player. She's been on line when not playing the GH to find songs she can download.

My 6 yo Loved Loved her didj that is after we were able to download the games. it took over 6 hours before leapfrogs site was cleared enough to do downloads.( leapfrogs site was down due to high traffic over load.)

My 8 yo Son has not said much about his presents( he has autism so anything that rolls if right up his alley.) But he did like the ds lite from Santa and has been playing Ben 10 on and off most of the day.

DH got shirts from the kids and a hand painted coffee mug from our 9 yo son.

Glad to see everyone has been enjoying their gifts.

I would have to say some of my favorite Christmas presents weren't exactly Christmas presents but because I wanted and liked them so much I consider them Christmas presents. They would be the Big screen TV bf bought me a few months ago,and the upgraded dsl internet that I got last month that gives me twice the speed I had before.Been waiting for that for 10 years! I got one of those full body length massage heating pads that I love. Finally got a new winter coat that I love.Been waiting for that forever!.I got a new huge hard drive for my computer.I am very happy with my Christmas. Now if Santa would just fix up this ole delapitated house I would be tickled pink!
Also like Catherine ,am so very happy and thankful that I got to have another Christmas with my parents.
These times are so very cherished.

My favorite gift DH won in an employee holiday drawing at his work on Dec. 23. It is a 32" Flat Screen HDTV! It's not huge, but it's bigger than our 20 yr old tv. We had no plans on buying a new tv until our old one died so we are thrilled, to say the least. We are not "lucky" people so this came as a complete shock. It's the first time we have ever won anything we would consider "big".

DD got me a silver & gold Mickey Mouse watch. The band is made up of alternating silver and gold Mickey heads. I've wanted this particular watch for 2 years but DH waited too long last year and couldn't find one for Christmas. This year when I saw it at Kohl's, I told DD to tell DH to get down there and buy it. I wasn't sure he did and was totally surprised when I opened it yesterday. DS got me a desktop mini aquarium and a beta fish - I love it! Harold is now quite happy swimming around in his new mansion.

I liked everything I received. Nothing in particular stood out. I always just appreciate the thought.
My favorite thing would probably have to be something that wasn't actually a gift. Last week I found out I won a family 4 pack of tickets to see Annie at a nearby "fancy" music hall. We're going tomorrow afternoon and we're all really looking forward to it. My daughter (who loves music/plays/musicals/everything that has to do with that) is especially excited. She loves to get dressed up and go to these "fancy" shows.

Dh got me this:

I had mentioned a few months ago that I would love one, he must have been paying attention. It'll save me lots of $$$ when it comes to lunch meat and such.

Well mine was not a gift I received, but what I gave. We were able to buy all 3 kids a new MacBook for Christmas/Hanukkah this year. It was worth every penny to see the looks on their faces when they opened them!

My two fave things from hubby were: a set of three chocolate brown Honora stretch bracelets and another D & B purse. It's a burgundy-ish color. I love it! I hate the price he paid for it, though! LOL I've gotten my other ones either from the Outlet store or eBay and they were way cheaper than the one he bought. But I still love it!

We haven't exchanged gifts with his family or my family yet. Our lane/hill is a complete sheet of ice and we're "iced" in.

The only gifts we get are from my brother and parents. We don't buy for each other and we don't take the kids to buy for us. My parents gave us each a check...which was totally unexpected and shocking! I cried. It is much needed. We have HOA dues due soon and just had to put $1400 in our truck to fix it. So, it was a wonderful surprising gift. My DH bought us Phantom of the Opera tickets last month for the show in Feb so I guess that *could* be our gift to each other. I just hope the singers are good. The lead female stunk last time (I've seen it 6 times in 15 years). I can't get enough Phantom!

My mostest favoritest gift was a set of 8 navy blue quilted placemets that my mom made. We have some that we received as a wedding gift 20+ years ago and they are really shot....but the ones you can buy nowadays fade and look nasty after a couple of washings, so I've been holding on to those original ones. My second favorite gift was a John Mayer CD that my son picked out on his own...and my Nintendo DS with Brain Age and Flash Focus games. I currently have the brain of a 76 year old , so I have quite a bit of training to do.

Wow some really nice gifts everyone got and I so hope you all enjoy them so much. On a personal note fun note my dad loves the color green and always always asks for any shade of green dress shirts. However this year he surprised us all and asked for a burgandy colored shirt, watch out as my brothers said Dad is getting frisky .However we were glad to accomodate him and mom she is so simple I can use some more towels she loves towels.. Peace and stay safe in this holiday season. Catherine

I got a wonderful gift basket of pamper me stuff. I also got a gc to get my nails done and some other cute small gifts. The best gifts of all was the ones we got our kids this year. As a joint gift we got the kids a guitar hero 3 for the wii and they haven't put it down since. My 7 yr old is far better at it then i am. We also got them both electric guitars. My 9 yr old got a hannah montana ipod charger speaker system. Hannah montana bedding and curtains. My son loves his atv 360 that he got as well.

My favorite gift was the Hallmark Singing Snowmen. My husband's brother and his wife sent it in the mail to us with a note attached that said it reminded them of how cute we are together.

Well, my favorite gift was my baby quaker parrot. My Mom gave me money for Christmas to buy him and DH bought me a huge cage for him. I named him St Nick . Now, I'm searching the house for stuff I can make toys out of for him.
Dh made a ball pit in dd#1 room for her and she has not been out of it since we put the balls in yesterday morning. dd#2's favorite was a new mp3 player that is also a camera too.

This year was less about giving and more family time. I received a new digital camera from my parents that I had asked for. I found a great deal at Office max and my mom snatched up the last one for us. I am always taking pictures and this one will fit in my purse, which is what I was looking for.
The best of all was just watching our daughter open her gifts a little at at time during the day. SHe loved her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and her Leapster2.
I also enjoyed dinner with family and a couple games of Rummikub afterwards.

I made one of my daughter's first year with us for our parents for Christmas a couple yeaers ago. I made one for us too. She loves to look at it. I did mine through Shutterfly. THe moms loved it. I think it is a good keepsake.
I've also started taking pics of all her artwork from school. I can't keep it all, so I take digital pics. Eventually I'm going to load them all into a book on Shutterfly for her and for us to look back at.

I put more emphasis on what I give than what I receive (don't really feel comfortable getting gifts), but my class gave me $250 on a money tree, and my husband bought me a beautiful cross he picked out by himself. Both of those brought me to tears; I bought a digital camera with the money from my kids. The gift I enjoyed giving the most was a huge inflatable LSU tiger; I gave it to my son to put in his front yard!

Oh boy, ladystrange......just me, but I'd steer that man back to the jewelry or you might end up with a toilet seat or a car battery some day (two of the 'terrific" gifts that I've received over the years ) Just kidding - hope you liked your gifts!!

Wink I got the best present!

I'm sorry ladies, but I got the best gift for Christmas. I got a "Ped Egg" and it is wonderful!!!! Yes, it is that stupid little egg on the info commercials and sold at Walgreens for $10.00. I told my DH and son that would make a good stocking stuffer. The one they got me has a handle which I think adds to it.

Christmas night I gave myself the greatest pedicure. That little thing works. My feet weren't even bad, and wow -- they are great now after just playing with it one time.

Last summer someone mentioned here how much they liked their Ped Egg, and boy do I second that. Seriously, it is a wonderful and dumb cheese grater for your feet.

I did get other presents -- my life isn't that sad -- but seriously, the Ped Egg works!!

CJ.....I loved the gifts he got me. I've been hinting on a GPS and I was totally shocked he got one for me. As for the crock pot...mine died last year and I REALLY wanted a new one. As for the jewelry......I know I can talk him back into that ANYTIME

Donnaquilt.....I have a Ped Egg too and LOVE IT. My feet are sooooooo bad and this has helped so much. They are great!

dd-21 gave me a beautiful photo collage frame filled with pics she had taken of the family throughout the year. She's done this for a few years now, and I really really love that she takes the time and effort to do this.

She also gave me a Post Secret book that she bought, but said it was from her brothers. I know it was from her, because they don't even know what Post Secret is, much less how big a fan I am.

I especially appreciate this, since she is a poor college senior, and has pretty much paid her own way. Such a great kid.

My DH and I bought Rockband for the kids (which they are having quite a time with), but the best gift of all was watching the kids play Rockband with cousins and uncles that they see only once a year. Priceless

Sigh...Thank goodness for my parents. They got me a GPS. It's super. I also got a GC to a local spa from the family of the little boy I work with. A little "Mom" teddy from DS #3. A few odds and ends and GC from co-workers. It was all nice.

The GC that DH passed on from his employer...a little less thoughtful. It was a Visa gift card. I wished he would have at least used it to buy GCs to stores I like. (a little more thoughtful.) It was give with a "We could go have your wedding ring re-done. What do you want?" We were going to have to take a loan to do it, but with a leaky roof, I doubt that will happen.

I got a Kitchenaid mixer from my husband! Yippee! I will use it for baking as well as whipped lotions.

We also got a PlayStation 3 for the family and that has been "eating" my time.

My favorite gift from my 3 adult children is a Kodak digital picture frame. There are over 1,000 photos of everybody including my 4 grandchildren. It has a timer so goes on at 8 am and off at 7. It will take a year to see all the photos but it just keeps showing them at random. No more photo albums for me

I posted this under a different thread, but I wanted it posted here, too.

My husband was the one that actually received this gift but the story behind it warms my heart.

Finances have been tight these past two years and my oldest son really wanted to give his dad something for Christmas. Well, he wrote him a note that included a picture of this expensive speaker set, saying that "I've got you covered, dad".

Turns out that my son sold his very expensive gamepod chair that we had given him two years ago to be able to buy his dad this gift. Even though he is my most difficult to raise, he is really a tender-hearted kid. (He did a similar thing so his brother could get an ipod touch).

It was a great Christmas.

We were left speechless on the last night of our cruise. The friends we surprised by going on the cruise (they had no idea we were coming) surprised us at dinner with Movado watches for the guys and Tanzanite earrings and neclaces for the girls, we were speechless he had to have dropped a bundle He also bought his family the same gifts.

I feel truly blessed this year..

Okay.. I know that this isn't really a gift, but I feel like the man upstairs had a hand in it. You all know that I was worried about how MIL and BIL would treat dd on our cruise.. Well, in port one day they rode the wave runners and MIL hurt her back and was out of commission for 1/2 the cruise so we had a GREAT time.

But I have to say that my favorite gift this year was finding out that dh and I are expecting another child in Aug. I had a tubal ligation reversal in Jan 08, and had been trying to get pg really hard until Hurricane Ike hit. Then, we had a lot of insurance work to deal with and stopped trying. I was supposed to start my period the Wed before we went on the cruise, but didn't and took a pg test on Wed and Thurs of that week (both with neg results). When my period didn't come on the cruise I just figured that my cycle was hosed up due to stress. Just to be sure though.. when we got back I took another test and it came back positive. The doctor that had done my reversal had warned that many reversal pg's were ectopic.. so I went to see him right away and they confirmed by ultrasound that the baby was in the uterus, and was measuring spot on for dh's and my Thanksgiving day quickie. So dh and I were thrilled, and Abby will be too if it comes out a girl. She's not sold on a brother yet though.. so we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Okay, not to go all religious on you guys.. but I've been thinking about it, and I am just truly amazed at the way God's plan fell into place. Dh and I were in horrible financial shape after all the expenses from Fletcher's medical bills, and were trying to have a child even when we couldn't really afford it. It was a miracle that we didn't get pg. I can't tell you how hard we prayed for financial relief and a baby. Then, Hurricane Ike hit right here in Lufkin and we were hired on with a great company that let us work right out of our home. We paid off all of our debt and have a good deal in savings, and now that we're able to take care of one with 100% security.. we're having a baby. Plus, August is a really hard month for us, and I remember thinking that I wish we could just sleep through that whole month. Now I feel like God has given us some light in a month that was so dark. It's just awesome to me..

Thanks for letting me share..
