OMG I love the GH !! We can't stop playing this game. I got my family the Xbox 360 Elite for Christmas and picked up the GH at Target's Black Friday sale. Let me tell ya this was the BEST money I have ever spent on a Christmas present. My son plays this game as if he was born with a guitar in his hands, even my 12 yo DD can play the stew out of the guitar. Me well I'm still learning ( But I'm top score on 2 songs 47,xxx on both ), Any hoot. I was on line tonight looking for the drums, but found you cant just buy the drums ( or at least I couldn't find just the drum set ). thats when I saw this Rock Band system. So now I'm wondering would this be better or equal too the GH in play ?. I would like to get the Mic, drums and another guitar for us all to be able to play as a family. If you have this system what do you think about it ? Is it east to play ?? How about the sound and levels of play ?..
Which of the 2 do you like best ?.. Sorry so many questions, But Amazon ( I always check out the reviews before buying ) and some say the drums are not what they should be and other say they like the RB best., So please if you would like to share what you think about the game I would really appreciate it.

I have both but I like Rock Band better.

We have Rock Band and have only played GH at other peoples homes. We love it! We bought an extra guitar...so we have two guitars, a drum set and a mic. It is great family fun.

We are looking to get the other rock band disk now so we have more songs to play through.

IIRC, the guitars for both games are interchangeable, for the 360,and PS3. We had GH2 for PS2, and gave that to my brother, but still have Rock Band for 360. I'm mostly lacking the coordination needed to play it, but the inlaws love it.

my family has rockhero and guitarband and they are both great games. they play them for hours at a time. my son is 19 and he perfers the GH because of song selection. Rock band is very close to GH but GH reigns supreme in our home.

I like Guitar Hero, my cousin is one of the wriiters of the game.
rock band gets on my nerves with the drums, the new drums that are out now, are much better.

We bought the PS 2 version Rockband for the kids, using the $$ sent from out-of-state grandparents. We have four kids, ages 18-7. I can tell you, at this point, for something that cost $99, we are all addicted! Since Christmas, we have all been up all hours of the night singing, playing the guitar, as well as the drums. DS has a bunch of college buds in town-they were up in the playroom all eve w/ it. Of course, we have finished the game now, and apparently need to get more CD's, but it has been so much fun! I do a rockin' Bon Jove, as well as a heady REM.

I have a question. We got GH for Christmas and it has a guitar, drums and a mic. When we try to play it, we can only play one instrament at a time it keeps saying you have to have 2 remotes hooked up but we do. Both remotes work on the other games, but it is not recognizing the second remote. All pieces work on the other one. Am I missing something??? Oh and this is for WII

Rock band drums will work with the newer guitar hero games (the ones that also have drums). Guitars can be used on either game too.

Thanks for all the input everyone. We are going to go with the rock band and possible later on with GH band set. Everyone seems to push toward RB the most. Thanks again for all the input on the 2 systems.

Mccartyjj, It's my understanding that you need an adapter to hook to the front of the system to plug the others into. The man at game stop showed me what it looked like when I asked about this night b4 last. It was around $ 15.00, Or maybe he was talking about this being needed for the rock band (?). If you call game stop they can help you hook the band up to the console. I have found that game stop is always most helpful with questions like this since getting our system. Now you have me wondering about this too. LOL. maybe I should call them to see if I need anything special when we get the band.
