Omg what a sad horrific story and at christmas time and dressed as Santa. I have no clue as to what could bring a person to commit these crimes. I am speechless....Catherine

I learned in my Criminal Justice classes 20 yrs ago that most murders occur around the Holiday season and most people are killed by "loved ones".
It is very sad indeed. How disturbed must a person be to do this? I could not imagine taking out a bunch of innocent people although I have imagined hurting specific people. (I would never do it).

The worst part is taking the joy out of the season forever for all members of the families and friends. Every year this is what they will think of and it will take a hell of a lot for it to go back to being a joyous time for them.

Some reports are saying that he had several thousand dollars on him and a plane ticket to Canada. They believe that he planned to flee the country but he unintentionally burned himself during his rampage and then committed suicide.

That poor little girl who answered the door! I heard she was released so hopefully her injuries aren't too bad.

Ugh - there are so many people that intentionally set out to harm others; sad thing is that this is becoming all too common.

That poor little girl! Thats horrible! She will never be the same around Christmas time if she sees a Santa Claus! You grow up learning to be excited when you see Santa and I can only imagine what is going through this girls head now!

This was just terrible. I, too, thought about the little 8 year old girl who answered the door. Can you imagine the therapy she will have to have?

So sad.

At least he took his own life. This jerk is another reason why I support the death penalty. Wished he would of suffered a little more first though.
