BD Gift for Sweet Sixteen Party?

Need to buy a gift for a girl who is turning 16. It has been ages since my daughter was 16. Can you suggest something that she might like? I have no idea. She doesn't do make-up and is more of a tom boy. Any suggestion will be a help. TIA

I was going to suggest an itunes card, also. You could always get her a gift card to a store that you know isn't going to go belly-up soon.

Quality jewelry NEVER goes out of style--even if she isn't a girly-girl.
A nice watch.(Fossil has some nice simple designs)
A simple gold chain w/ a crucifix or Star of David (or any other religious symbol)
simple gold/platinum small hoop earrings

I got my nieces the reed diffuser scent things for Christmas at the insistence of my 21 yo daughter. DD is an RA at the college she attends, and said they're the big thing in the dorms. Surprisingly to me, they were a huge hit with my nieces - 16 & 19. SIL said they'd both asked for them for Christmas, but she didn't get them.

I found them in very pretty cut glass bottles at Ross or Marshall's - both stores are in the same complex, and I can never remember which is which.

Since most girls love to shop I would say cash. That way she can go to what ever store she wants.
