I know things might look bad right now but we Americans have a real entrepreneurial spirit. I see many big companies going down however I see many people taking advantage of the situation and starting up Mom and Pop businesses.

Right now there is a grand movement under way, mainly spiritual however evidenced by the change in spending habits of our country which essentially drive our economy and our society.

We are realizing that material possessions and greed does not make it we are going back to the simple ways and appreciating the small things that really mean a lot in the grand scheme of things.


I have a lot of faith in people and God and that we are where we are supposed to be both as a world of people and individually in our own lives.

I hope that all of you will be optimistic and have faith in yourself, God, and the goodness that still exists in most people.

I hope you use your ingenuity and creativity and whatever else you have at your disposal to ensure that your families and your lives continue to grow and thrive.

And yes I also believe in the power of positive energy, prayer, and acting in a manner consistent with the future I or you envision.

So my message is don't worry things will work out for the better and we can take advantage of this shift in consciousness to make the world a better place.

And if you see an opportunity to make something profitable out of the bad luck of collapsing greed then go for it!

My favorite quotes are: "nothing can happen to me today that God doesn't know about" and "God has not given us the spirit of fear".

Of course I will buy designer bags. I look for quality and value especially in hard financial times. What sense would it make to buy a cheap bag that is going to fall apart or go out of style when I can find a good deal on a quality designer bag that will last a lifetime? It's just plain stupid and obvious to me. I buy quality whatever I buy.

I don't charge I don't spend bill money I buy maybe one good new purse every six months. Believe me I talk about it a lot more than I do it!

Also there is nothing wrong with looking nice. And it's very wasteful in my opinion to buy something that is cheaply made just because it doesn't cost much.

So yes there will be designer bags in my future. As long as I live and breathe...

Hopefully and sincerely like you said 2009 will be better for all, it just has to be and we all must have some sort of faith to get us all through the tough times as there might be some ahead. However dear friend and to all here on the boards. Want for the most important things in life, simple pleasures, for without the love of family and good health , what else is there. I know this is off topic and not taking away from your wonderful post, but sometimes I just get plain sad, for sadly we do live in a materialistic world, we have become way to modern, while things were truly harder many many years ago, today we literally have everything at our fingertips and yet really what did get easier.We have cell phones which are wonderful but now we cannot even find the time to talk we have to text, well not me, I barely know how to answer that cell phone..lol..
