The Eagles Beat The Giants! : )

They are headed to Arizona. Then hopefully onto Super Bowl! The sixth seed in the NFC playoff tournament went to New York and beat the top seed, 23-11. They were not stopped by fatigue. They were not run over by the Giants running game. Their defense was outstanding and their offense was good enough and efficient enough. And now, on to Arizona and the NFC Championship Game against a team that the Eagles pounded on Thanksgiving night. Go Birds! E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! ~Lisa

DH is overjoyed that the Eagles won. I'm thrilled too that the Steeler's won. We're both from PA but living in Maine now.

We may just see both PA teams in the Superbowl this year! I'm rooting for the Steelers...good luck! ~Lisa

If we get an Eagles - Steelers Superbowl I'm going to need a marriage counseler on call. Hubby and I actually made football part of the terms of our pre-marriage agreement (you know like I promise to put the toilet seat down, I promise not to use the last of your favourite coffee creamer etc). He's Steelers, I'm Eagles. We cheer on each others teams EXCEPT when they play each other and then its all bets are off. Now during the early games we just have fun with it - gloat a bit but it doesn't count so its no big deal. This past year when the Eagles sacked the Steelers quarterback so much in the one game I was teasing him that he must have asked what it was like to be our quarterback - so we showed him (Poor Donovan, he spends entirely too much time lying on his back staring up at the sky, I sometimes wonder if he really wanted to be an astronomer when he was growing up). But the Superbowl matters.

I don't know if I should send him home to Pittsburgh to watch, or invite his brother out here to watch - set them up with food and then go to one of my friend's house to watch. We can gloat via text message then..

What you said! A year without Mannings is a good year.

That would be very interesting. I just don't know how well it would go over in our house! I think we might need counseling like Skye said. Maybe we can get a group discount if it comes to that! I'm just overjoyed that the Patriots didn't make it in. I think they are so overrated JMHO. I usually get picked on when I wear my Steeler's jacket. But I say proudly "I've been a fan since 1973 and I'm not changing and just because I live here doesn't mean I have to support the local teams!

I just got to say as a Patriot fan that they are not overrated. They should have been in the play-offs with 11 wins. Its just a stupid rule why they werent. They have 2 of the best quarterbacks in the league. Go Eagles but I love my Patriots.
