Anyone else doing Weight Watchers?

My husband and I have had good success with low-carb dieting, but once you go off the diet, you put back on weight rather quickly. I know that for us, it has to do with not having cut down on the amounts of food we eat and we overeat. With low-carb, you eat as much as you want, but that's not good when you aren't doing low carb.

We are going to start Weight Watchers tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips or recipes that they don't mind sharing? I know several people who have had a lot of success on this particular diet and I'm hoping we will too.

I would suggest doing a search for Weight Watchers. We have had a few recent topics on it.

I am not "on" it but I did do the program 5 or so years back and had great success. I still keep my online membership and use it every once in a while. It's a great program and one of the only ones (IMO) that teaches you the proper way to eat whether at home or out.

Tips: drink your water and always eat breakfast. The water is always a problem for a lot of people. I drink a lot of fluids anyway so my water was always marked off before 1:00 in the afternoon.

Find exercise you like and will do. Take a walk with DH in the evening. Then make them longer and add hand weights. Join a gym class (I liked Zumba which is more like dance). I really like Wii Fit right now. The My Fitness Coach is awesome and it does not require the Fit Board. The Wii Fit with the board is fun and the yoga helps keep your balance in check. I like yoga and never thought I would until I joined WW. A good class can be found here for about $10 for 1 - 1.5 hours once a week. Beyond walking 2-3 times a night for 45 min, yoga was the only exercise I got on WW and I lost 30 lbs in a bit over 3 months.

Good luck. Like I said, it's a great program and you are more likely to succeed when both of you are doing it.

Good sites:

Dotti's Weight Loss Zone

CalorieKing - Diet and weight loss. Calorie Counter and more

Halfmysize.com

I have a big word doc with WW crockpot recipes that I got awhile back. I am not into crockpot cooking so I haven't tried many. I do have some faves (not crockpot) that I still use and the kids like them (don't know if that is helpful or not). PM me your email I can send them to you (let me know which ones you want). There are also some WW yahoo groups that I've heard are pretty good.

Good luck

I am on WW. I have lost almost 30 pounds. . I try to stick to a lower carb diet. True you can eat anything you want just watch your portions.
Get a food scale.
Drink your water
Try Campbell's Soup at Hand. Chicken Noodle and Chicken & Stars are 1 point. They are good in between lunch and dinner.
Buy some of WW candy...the Fruitees sold at the meeting. One package is 1 point. They are a long lasting candy.
WW string cheese is good. 1 point
WW bread/muffins are horrible, IMO. I use Brownberry double fiber. Takes great and is fill sized bread. 1 point a slice.
Eat early (dinner)
Exercise
