| Once again, asking for prayers for a child w/ cancer...
Update.... I am not sure how many of you are following her story, but Sam passed away this evening. My son Patrick was actually the one to inform me. There were three kids from our cancer clinic that ended up @ the same college-Patrick, Sarah, and Sam. Pat was quite tight w/ Sarah, who went through treatment the first time w/ Sam. And Patrick went through his first treatment when Sam was going through her second. Anyway, Patrick called me and was such a grown up about it. He was heading up the hill to visit Sarah -the one who informed him. I'm sure those kids will have a rough night-they will miss their friend It's funny, I have always been the one to give him the news delicately (we have lost many friends). I tried to keep my cool, I did notice a lot of sniffles in his voice. It took everything I had to keep it together. I knew it was coming, I just didn't expect it so fast. I am sorry guys, to keep asking you all for prayers for these beautiful children. While our son got through treatment just fine, there have been several kids who have not made it. I belong to a Cancer Mom's support group, and while lots of kids make it, there are are a few that are close to my heart. Sam is the best....I actually met her three weeks before Patrick was diagnosed. She and Patrick ended up w/ the same chemo and radiation schedule, and eventually ended up at the same college, w/ the same friends. Unfortunately, Sam's days are short. Oh Linnybop! My heart hurts for you. This path you are walking is, I'm sure, full of love and amazing people...but the heartbreak you must endure is shattering! Let the family know that we are all praying for them...I still visit Tommy Gosser's site for updates on how they are doing, and will continue to pray for them as well. Please continue to take care of yourself as you are in our prayers as well...

Here is a Catholic prayer for all sick children...I will keep these kids and their families/friends in my prayers... ~Lisa St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of our son (daughter) and ask him to restore our child to health if such be his holy will. This favor, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers. Amen. |

linnybop, I am so sorry to hear this. There is nothing worse than losing a child. I will pray for this family. When our son was in ICU someone had signed for prayers for us here. Light A Candle, Say a Prayer at Light-A-Candle.ORG It was a great comfort to see all the people that had us in their prayers. They sent us emails with the prayers. ![]() Shirley |
