Wink My son Tommy got wonderful good news from his heart doctor thank god
As many of you know I talk about my son Tommy who will be 20 on 3/8/09.Yesterday was his annual heart check-up and he received wonderful news, everything is fine and nothing is changed... Thank you God so much for keeping my beautiful baby boy safe. This means alot considering Tommy was born with 3 heart defects and had 2 surgerys and 2 procedures to correct the other heart defects. He currently has aortic stenois and had angioplastly 2 times to open up the area. He also suffers from many stomach problems, he has ibs and celiac disease and is lactose intolorent.. We are always worried as parents that he is too thin, however his heart doctor as told us many times it is better he is thin for his heart. Thankfully he is under a new internist and has received some relief for his stomach problems. He has medication he takes 2 times a day to relax and coat his stomach and digestive track. He is also has medicine to take if he gets a bad attack from the ibs, to help with diarehha and cramps. He also goes to a nutrition doctor to help with his diet as to what he can eat and what he cannot not. He keeps a log of new foods tried and whether or not they are good for his system or not. I must say all his medical problems have made him a fine young mature adult and extremely responsible, besides that he is a pure joy to us and such a good kid at heart. So to God thank you so so much for keeping our baby boy safe... Peace. Catherine

Glad he is doing well. It sounds like he's been through -- and continues to endure - a lot.

(They let him live in NY and be a Red Sox fan? He's one tough kid!)

Yes in fact while we are all native new yorkers the only ny team we like are the Islanders Hockey Team. Other then that we do not like an ny teams. We all love the Red Sox, Orioles, Ravens, Pathers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers... peace.Catherine

Catherine, that is wonderful news!!!

Your son's digestive problems also sound a lot like Chrones disease (some of it).

I am just so glad that the dr gave a good report!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
