Smile How long have you been a member of MyCoupons?

This month makes 6 years for me as a member. Wow, I didn't realize I had been on here that long! Time flies! Just wondering how long some of you others have been here for.

I have been a member almost 10 years. I bet it is safe to say I am one of the last remaining from the original group of posters from when this site started. I can honestly say I have been there done that and even have a MY Coupons T-shirt to prove it lol.

I don't remember, it 's been a crazy long time, but I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a post than one I read tonight. It said "We are not the KGB, we are my coupons. "

I joined in 200, but I don;t think I ever posted anything back then. As I said in an earlier post I hadn't been to the site in several years, till around a month ago, and in total my posts are still in the single numbers. I do like this site tho, and even tho I don;t post much, I read almost all posts,

I joined when I was pregnant with DS Stefan so February would be 11 years. But I think there was a big crash or something and we had to re-join so my date of joining is different.

Since 2000...ah the good old days of making money on the internet.....(sigh).
I joined when I was doing all those great click away sites and getting checks and merchandise.
I loved MyCoupons and made a few comments, but mostly just read.
Then they asked for a fee for us to become permanent ultimate members and it was worth it, so I and many others did.
I left for awhile, but came back last year.
I love this community and all the great info from all the different boards.

I may not post my opinions all the time, but my dh and dd hear about it all the time, lol!

Rose, that is funny.. lol I have often shared with my dh over the years what some people have commented on.
I even will start it out with "so and so said this..." to create an open invitation for a conversation with my dh. It has opened up some good debates/conversations in our home!

I think my dh already knows most of you by your beliefs and "stands", but he has never even been to this website! lol!!!

I had to look it up also. 8 years wow. I used to do the look what I found site when they would say RUN to rite aid and get the free hair dye and out the door I would run... those were the days. I remember printing all the buy $25.00 worth of stuff at Lane Bryant and get $25.00 off. I would print a bunch and my friends and I would run to the store and get all the free jewelry and socks for christmas gifts and the coupons from K mart that gave you $20.00 gift cards for each script that was new or transferred I got 22 of those beauties and it paid for my christmas that year.. Oh for those glorious times to return..

On my best year doing rewards programs earning checks and gift certificates I made $12,000.00 total for the year. My DH was so impressed he used to tell his friends about what I did. I was a stay at home mom so I had time to visit sites and click. I would sit for hours at night on freeride.

Chritsmas, Birthdays and grocery shopping were totally free that year after I spent my gift certificates. I even used some of my gift certificates while I was on vacaction. I would collect all year and then about October do the big cash out on everything.
Some sites auto paid you every couple of months.

I had my excel sheet that I kept tract of what I had earned from what site it was like having a mini business. I even got my MIL going and she was earning too. I didn't care if I earned $10.00 a month from a site if I could earn something I was clicking. I was addicted. And then it all came crashing down what a sad day lol.

I had so much free stuff coming in daily from different deals posted on the LWIF board and I remember running daily to answer the LWIG thread for the day. I had boxes of freebies all over the place. I gave away things and to this day I still use quite a few of the freebies I got.

Ahh those were the days. I miss them.

I guess the proper answer would be 1999 when I was starting up EthnicGrocer.com (before the dot com bubble burst)....

The real answer.....I'm starting to think that answer should be "too long. just too long."

Wow - a lot of us signed up in 1999, and WOW - was that a great freebie/rewards year! My cash earner back then was Epinions, as well as all the rewards programs. Birthdays and holidays gifts were all "earned" by clicking!

It's been 9 years for me. I joined the day before my birthday. I was working at Lillian Vernon at the time as an Internet Customer Service Rep. The Luminaires were incorrectly price and people were ordering those things like crazy. I remember one lady had ordered like 70 of them and they were all free. We were trying to find out where the people were getting the incorrect price and someone wrote us that it was coming from here. Needless to say, it got my curiousty (sp) and came on to take a peek and have been hooked ever since. We had like 700 orders in a matter of 20 minutes....it was pure craziness. And yes all the orders were cancelled, if that had gotten to Mrs. Vernon it would of been the axe for whoever was doing the pricing at the time. Don't flame me, I became a savvy consumer b/c of this board...lol.

Also, anyone remember having to pay for this service at one time. Like become a lifetime member for $25 or something like that. I paid the fee at the time but now that's its not the orginial people who started this board, I wonder if it still applies. I cannot believe I paid money for something that has been free to join for all these years.

'99, but my old username quit working on me. I left for a couple of years and didn't post much, but when I tried to it was kaput. I can find my old posts - it's archived and has a slew of odd numbers after it - but can't log in!

What I remember....

Freeride's phone thing, where you could call in and for each ad you listened to you got a minute of long distance time.

More.com's "Get it at this price... forever!" deals, which obviously weren't forever because they went under. I was supposed to have gotten Mach3 blades for $1 with any more.com order for the rest of my life. Riiiight. lol

The drugstore.com (or was it Amazon?) mis-priced bath sets, particularly the Mango scented one. It had one of those across-the-tub wire basket things filled with all sorts of great products... scrubs, loofahs, lotion, etc. They were something like $45 sets that we got for $4.50 or so each, with free shipping.

The idolls 90% going out of business sale.

Free Dunkin Donuts coffee each time you filled out a ratingwonders.com review of an internet-based store.

The fee was for Premium membership to the boards upstairs not to these boards. I remember those who didn't have the premium membership were so paranoid that the premium members were talking about them on the private boards. There were many wars over this.

The private boards stayed up for along time then they just died. No one posted up there and they ended up just removing them.

The public boards have always been free.

Been here since 1998, even a paid member!..I DO NOT post under my old name anymore, just stay on this one. I do remember the good ole' days! . Had 2 Christmas's free, picture ( on the cover) and a big write up in gateway magazine about the freebies and GC's that I have received all from MC.

P.S. I still have the magazine, my son gets it out to laugh at every once in awhile.

Don't forget the free dog food too. I had bags and bags of free dog food that I used to donate to the Shelter. The poor UPS man I felt so sorry for him hauling in my dog food and boxes.

I missed all the freebie stuff......I didn't even know sights like this existed.

I think I joined in 2002??? 2003 maybe??? I don't remember. A friend was always getting AWESOME deals, and I asked her how in the world she did that. I mean, I thought I was good at finding a deal, but, she just blew me away with her finds. She told me about MyCoupons, and I think I've been here ever since. Thanks "D", I know you said you never signed up, but, I have an inkling you read here.

I gave those tub-baskets as teacher gifts that year, I think they were $3 !

I wish I was still getting the razor blades for that price, DH is loyal to them. $1 and free shipping was awesome, even if you could only order them once a month!
