Listening to the news on the radio about this event today..listening to past Presidential Inauguration speeches....seeing the flags flying high on the videos as our Country welcomed our new President..I realized something.

I was so disrespectful of this very special event called the Inauguration and the change of the Presidential power.

I can't believe that I made fun of, or poked fun of, or even delighted in the not so endearing words that described so distastefully this most momentous time in our American History that only happens when a new President is elected. It is because of our freedom that this can even happen, and through my sheer sense of patriotism (yes, I am very patriotic), I now realize how ignorant I was.

truble, I read past the negativism in your post to me and let your words stay with me tonight, as I went about my business, so I could really think about what you meant.

As I listened to the news accounts on the radio, I came to the realization of how stupid and unpatriotic the statement was.

and I think I got it.

Thanks for taking the time to at least make me think.. I just wish you had done it a different way.

If I were you, I wouldn't look into CJ's above post and think of it as a personal attack. This is absolutely her style. She would have said this to anyone showing love - it didn't have to be you. In fact, you should feel more than ever like CJ was including you in the same way she includes everyone. She's asked me to sing Kumbaya before when she read a similar post of mine...

I have one brother who can't stand it when we hug him. It makes him crazy. So what do we do? We hug him more!

Our board is full of really individual styles. In general, let's accept each other's style - then our own styles are likely to be accepted as well.

Back to the original post, ohhgodd it takes a big (minded) person to admit that they may have to readjust their thinking in some sectors.
For the most part when people don't see my point of view, I like to listen to theirs because it's all knowledge.
And knowledge makes me a smart cookie.
