Do You Make Your Bed Everyday?

And do you like your house neat?

I make the bed everyday. It's not like magazine perfect (lol nothing in my house is!) and I do like things neat. I just cannot relax in a chaotic environment.

Yes, and YES!!! I can't function properly without my bed being made. I just feel like something is unsettled in my life if I don't make the bed.

I need order and organization in my life. It makes things soooooooo much nicer and easier.

No. I don't see the point in making my bed since no one sees it but me and I'll just be un-making it at the end of the day. I only make the bed if we are going to have company who will be in my room.

I try to keep the house neat. I hate chaos as well but for some reason, I don't equate an unmade bed with chaos LOL. My house looks "lived in" but it's pretty well kept up

Absolutely..I make the bed as soon as I get out of it. Its just one of those things I am compulsive about.

I make my bed every day. I feel like it's a small and easy thing I can do to bring order to my little world.

That's about the size of it.
Besides I am working a split shift right now so the bed seems to always have someone in it. The cat is really loving having someone to snuggle with most of the time.
And the cat gets pissy when asked to move to make the bed. Yeah, that's why it doesn't get made more often. Wait I'll think of another excuse for my lazyness.

I would love for my house to look like something out of a magazine but my sweetie is a "clutterer" and I let is go so far and then go on a rampage where everything is put to rights and will last for a week or so.

I cannot get into an unmade bed, so I make sure it is done every morning. And I am with you, OP, I cannot be in a cluttered or messy home and relax at all. It makes me crazed.

Yep.
I guess we don't move around much when we sleep because making consists of grabbing the sheet, blanket, comforter and pulling them up. Takes like 2 seconds.

Rule in my house is last person out of bed makes the bed. It is such a simple thing that can make such a difference in the appearance of the room. Your bedroom can be spotless and an unmade bed makes it look sloppy.

And yes my house is always neat. I keep it what I call company ready. I have OCD and clutter and chaos just make it worse for me.

Absolutely

If I am sicker than a dog and stay in bed all day, when I finally get up the energy to get up and go to the bathroom, I use what energy I have left from the walk to make the bed before I get back into it

The bed gets made everyday, even though the bedroom is upstairs. It would drive me nuts to get into a bed at night that is messed up,

My bed gets "made" once a day usually just before we hop in for sleeps. We always toss the sheet and blankets all over during sleeps so its really messy. My house is no showpiece but its lived in and we are happy in it.

I make all of the beds pretty much every day. The kids help with theirs, but for the most part I'm the one doing them. It doesn't take much time (I get all 6 of ours done in about 15 minutes and that's with the kids "helping") and instantly makes the room look neater.

As far as my house, it is always neat. I don't like clutter, it drives me insane. The one thing I need to work on is dusting and swiffering. The kids usually do a good job picking up dust on the floor when they run around in their socks, but I force myself to swiffer when I see little dust bunnies gathering in the corners, LOL!

One of us (DH or I) makes the bed every morning. Whoever gets out last makes it.

And yes, you can ask anyone I know about how anal I am about my house! I cannot stand anything on my counters, I "need" to see lines in my carpet and I'm not embarrassed to say I walk around dusting things throughout the day. It one thing I've VERY particular about!

Yes, DH & I make our bed everyday. On the weekends it usually last one out, during the week we do it together.

The dds, on the other hand, I've given up...

I haven't always been this way, but I do make the bed every day and make sure the other beds are made, too. We put our house on the market in August (hasn't sold yet), but it has really made all of us step up in regards to the condition of the house. I used to clean, then everyone would leave their junk everywhere and I'd get frustrated. Now, everyone picks up and the house looks great. I LOVE it and will never go back to having a cluttered, messy house. It completely freaks me out now if it's not basically perfect.

Last one out of the bed, makes the bed. Although it doesn't get made on the day that I change the sheets because I take them off and don't put them back on until nighttime when it's time to get back in them.

Yes. I really don't like to get in the bed at night if the sheets have been exposed all day....if just feels different to me. Gosh, that sounds weird.....

Wink

yes yes and yes again , when my bed in the morning is not made I feel like the whole room is a mess. I also cannot live in a cluthered sp.. or dirty home and mess i cannot stand messes. However we are all like this as a whole I have discussed this before when the kids were small we always encouraged them to keep their rooms clean.I do get very upset if things are out of place. I do however have a dear friend she truly has a heart of gold but house cleaning is not one of her things and she admits it and is totally fine with it. I guess to each his own.Actually my dh is more cleaning crazy then me.. Peace. Catherine

Yes, same here, a heated waterbed. I make it up just as soon as I get out of it. I don't want to over work the heater because it's a big hassle replacing them. It hasto work hard as it is because my room is the coldest room in the house. I even throw the covers up if I get up to go to the bathroom during the night.

Now, the rest of the house is another story. I won't even get into that.

I don't know if it count as "making the bed", since I don't tuck anything in, but I do pull the sheet and comforter (if there's one on the bed...just a sheet in the summer) up, smooth everything out and put the pillow in the right place. I started doing this in college when I was living in a tiny dorm room. I thought it helped the room look better. And I've just continued it. It takes me maybe 15 seconds (a little longer if I have to convince one of the cats to leave) and is the first thing I do when I get out of bed.

The only time I don't make it is if I know I'm going to wash the sheets that day.

My husband works swings so I am out of bed well before he is - but I make the bed at night before I go to sleep. I'm kinda OCD - I CANNOT sleep with ANY wrinkles in the sheets.
I have a waterbed so that means fixing the underpad as well as the sheets.

Wow! I can't believe how many people still have waterbeds...

For some reason I have had it in my mind that they were thing of the past and most people had ditched them.

I've had a waterbed for 30 years - I wouldn't change it for anything! It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer and so comfortable.

It is fun seeing this thread. A couple days ago I was just wondering WHY I can't take my shower until my bed is made??

I can not get dressed in a room with the bed not made.

OK, so I am weird.

Ok.. You go right ahead weirdo!

My answer, yes, I like my house neat. (it never stays that way for long)
and
about making the bed, I don't make it if I'm going to be getting right back into it that night! LOL I just straighten it and leave my decor pillows, throws, and all that to the side on the stand. I can spiff up in a jiffy if someone calls to come over and visit. My DH just doesn't understand why we need over a dozen pillows of all shapes and sizes on there. I do! It looks like the magazines when it's all made up!

I love a waterbed!!!! The most comfortable bed made! My husband had bought one of those sleep number air beds before I met him...THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED EVER MADE! I have no idea what possessed him to buy that stupid thing...probably his psycho EX girlfriend's bright idea!!!!!

OH...we make the bed every morning!
