Suicidal Grandfather of Slain Caylee Anthony Found at Motel

Suicidal Grandfather of Slain Caylee Anthony Found at Motel - Crime & Courts : People.com

I asked a friend of mine who's very familiar with the Caylee Anthony case about this story and he said there's a more to it than meets the eye. He said that both the wife and husband have lied throughout the investigation and it can be proven in court. He said that they have enough on both grandparents to charge them and get a conviction and that George Anthony knows it. Cindy Anthony has a big mouth and has implicated herself and her husband in some way. I know that Cindy deliberately destroyed evidence but I don't know what she said about George or what else she said about herself.

Apparently, the only reason the grandparents haven't been charged is that authorities are using them to get to Casey because they want Casey convicted more than they want to punish her parents. My friend has no sympathy for George Anthony and thinks this is an obvious ploy to gain sympathy after the latest Caylee revelations. I think he's right. I don't think this was a genuine suicide attempt. I think this is George's PR response to the authorities who are forcing his and Cindy's hand. It'll be interesting to see if it works for him.

It seems that George and Cindy are scared now that their (successful) attempts to block the investigation might backfire on them. From what my friend says, they have good reason to be scared. I can't spread rumors I can't prove on a public message board but there's much more to this Caylee Anthony story than the public knows and they won't learn it until all the details have been released. For now, let's just say that Cindy and George Anthony aren't blindly adoring parents who are protecting their daughter because they truly believe she's innocent of this terrible crime.

I have always felt that 1) the mother knew all along and either helped Casey commit or covered up the crime. I believe she was an active participant, 2) the father SHOULD have known (especially since he's former law enforcement) or at least suspected that his wife and daughter were guilty of murder and did nothing to help the investigation.

I say let them all rot in jail...

Marilynk, I totally agree. This case started while my son was in the NICU and I was up late at all hours of the night pumping for him, so I've been following it. The little girl is the same age as my baby girl, just a month different, my heart goes out to this little girl... I'm wondering what's up with the brother that he feels the need for his own lawyer now as well? I think a lot of skeletons' are going to come out of the closet... No pun intended on the baby.

I am not convinced that either parent participated in Caylees death. But, having said that...I do think that they helped cover up for their daughter and I do believe they know more than what they have shared with the police. Cindy has changed her story almost as many times as Casey. At the beginning I did feel sorry for both of the parents, but as time has passed and lies have been uncovered, I am starting to change my way of thinking...

I've always thought that they were helping Casey cover it up, too. I think they know way more than they've said and they've known Casey was involved since the beginning.

I personally always felt in my gut they knew more then they were letting on . All around this is just plain sick and disgusting. Again the only solice is knowing that baby Caylee is now a little angel in gods paradise ... As far as the rest like Marilynk said rot in jail lock up the key and throw it in the ocean forever.... So sad. Catherine

I agree, I also thought they knew more. I also was shocked at how quick they had a lawyer. I remember hearing last week that the brother, their son was hoping to turn against his sister for a break from the courts. I think they all knew and helped cover it up. Sad, I couldn't imagine hurting any child much less my own.

This whole suicide story is a bunch of phooey to me. Anyone who is seriously contemplating suicide is not going to send text messages about it to their family. I think it's just another attention getting ploy.

I won't speculate on any suppositions regarding this case since there are so many unknown factors right now except an innocent almost 3 year old is dead. I know this is going to sound harsh, but why waste the resources? When someone wants to commit suicide, I say let them. George Anthony or whoever. Once again, too, many resources put in place to find the guy, get him, and then hospitalize him. He should have been left alone as a free American to do as he chose.

I agree.

The "duct tape" revelation has broken my heart I pray that the baby was unconscious before the duct tape was put over her mouth so she wasn't frightened

I agree so much they should let him die. All of them should forget about any trials or waste of time and our taxpayers money to keep them comfortable with a bed and food in jail...Like I said before lock them up for good right now asap, 24/7 never seen the light of day, never have any contact with another person only them miserable selfs. Throw away the key and cement the entrance. All this is anger and all this will never be bring justice to that poor innocent little baby girl who sadly only was on earth for 3 years. But as again the only solice I can feel and know is that she is a angel and playing in Gods home of paradise.... RIP Caylee Angel....... Catherine

I don't think the grandparents had anything to do with killing their granddaughter...but agree about covering things up.
Like the hairbrush story that has been reported about Cindy (police asked for Caylee's hairbrush, I guess for DNA...she gave them a brush, but not the baby hairbrush she always used only on Caylee..) things like that. That happened before the baby's body was found...why would she do something like that other than to cover up and hinder the investigation!

I have not followed this completly but wasn't it the grandparents that went to the police and said they thought that something dead had been in the car because of the smell? They were very angry and thought their daughter had done something terrible. They did the right thing at first then must have decided to try and save their daughter. They had already lost their grandchild and didn't want to lose their daughter too. I think they must have been very torn becuause they loved both of them. I have always wondered how a parent could stand behind their child after they have been charged of a horrible crime. I sure hope I never have to find out.

I believe the parents knew all along what happened to caylee. I also believe the brother knows as well. Little caylee looks so much like my 3 yr old. I can't imagine hurting any child. They all need to suffer like poor caylee did. My heart breaks for that poor baby.

I'm just hoping to goodness that baby was unconscious when it all took place. Truly can't imagine.

I think that anything is possible, but I don't think that it's a ploy so that he doesn't have to testify in court...The thing that bothers me is that he used to be a police officer...He should have had the smarts to have been able to figure out that something was terribly wrong from day one...This denial or whatever you want to call it is ridiculous...Enough is enough! All signs point to Casey having murdered her sweet little girl...I hope and pray that the forensic evidence will be enough to convict her...I hope that she rots in jail for the rest of her miserable life...I'm a bit worried that they are going to say she can't get a fair trial because of all the publicity. I believe that she killed Caylee because the child was a burden to her...She got in the way of Casey's partying...Simple as that...I also think that Casey was extremely jealous of the attention that her parents gave to Caylee...As for George, it looks like I'm the only one on here who feels for him...Just look at what he's been through..The man has had an otherwise ok life until his only daughter was facing the possibility of life in prison, he lost his only granddaughter, he had people camping out on his lawn...etc. etc...It's enough to put anybody in the nut house! His life is hell right now. People are pointing the finger at him and his wife suggesting that they had something to do with this...I think that from the jailhouse tapes I've seen where they were visiting Casey, it's clear that they had nothing to do with this. Their life is constantly under the microscope...and he finally hit his breaking point. There are many people who think about committing suicide who let someone know beforehand. They are just crying out for help. His texting family isn't anything unusual for someone to do in that situation. As for Cindy, I've never liked her from day one. I think she's nuts and has let her daughter walk all over them. She has always enabled her big time so it's no wonder she's the way she is. I have thought that perhaps Casey enlisted her brother Lee's help in disposing of the body. They are very close and I think he would do anything for her. We shall see... ~Lisa
