favorite store

I love the dollar tree store. We have 4 that are very close by, within a mile of my house, and one of them is huge and that is by far my favorite. I also have a dollar general and a dollar buys (where nothing is a dollar) and also another dollar something store where nothing is a dollar. Sounds like all the stores around here around here are dollar stores but I am in an area that is full of stores, churches and hospitals (5).

For general purposes, Target.

Meijer, Meijer, Meijer.

I am about an hour away from Target and everytime I'm in the area I go in and try to like the store but I've never been able to make a connection. I think they are expensive and more often than not, I leave empty-handed.

I don't get the Target-love either. I also think they're more expensive than Walmart for a lot of things, and I look for the best price when I shop.

I probably have to say Target. It's a very organized and clean store and the seasonal markdowns are great. I also like the clearance sales of Jewel-Osco. Their prices are pretty high, but when they want to get rid of merchandise, they throw everything in a cart and mark it anywhere from 10 cents to 99 cents. Gotta love it.

For groceries, I'd have to say Publix. I think that their meat, produce, and bakery are so much nicer and fresher than Kroger. Target for clearance items...especially seasonal at 75% or 90% off! Kohls for clearance clothes back in the day (can't find anything in there these days...I think the days of getting bags of stuff for $40 are over with...sad to say)...Walgreens is my favorite drug store hands down. ~Lisa

I would have to say Harris Teeter. While I have put a major moratorium on spending, somehow I just don't feel guilty about buying too many groceries.

I absolutely love the Macy's in NYC! They have the best selection of women's plus size clothing. I can spend hours there!

I like the 99 cents store. They have some great name brand items, if you get there early when they first stock the shelves.

I don't have favorite stores, I guess. I like bookstores and garden centers.

Let me add that for gardening, I love a few local nurseries who not only have quality stuff, but also give back to the community. If any lives in the SE metro area of Minneapolis/St.Paul, Buell's is my first choice.
